Look, I like Gilbert and he has a bright future, but what exactly had he done to be considered a top 10 LW? He beat Kawajiri and Guida, both by decision. I'm not saying I knew Thomson would win (I didn't) but the difference between them was probably marginal. Gilbert doesn't have KO power or elite striking. He's tough as nails and is strong with very good BJJ. But he might be the most overrrated LW since any current Japanese LW. I hear ya Huck. Caplan made a good point about Diaz yo-yoing on weight and that taking a toll on his body. I liked this article so much that I CALL FOR A REMATCH.
