Jesse Taylor to fight on July 19?
Fight Hype has the scoop on the possible return of Jesse “J.T. Money” Taylor to the Octagon:
Despite being kicked out of The Ultimate Fighter Finale, it appears that Jesse Taylor is set to make his return to the UFC. Sources close to the situation have informed us that, less than one month after he was supposed to face Amir Sadollah in the finale, Taylor will be entering the Octagon on the July 19th card headlined by Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin. Although an opponent has yet to be named, it’s rumored that CB Dolloway, who replaced Taylor in the finale and ultimately lost a second time to Sadollah via first round submission, could be the frontrunner to land the fight.
Taylor vs. Dollaway is a fight that I would love to see to see who has the better wrestling for mixed martial arts. Hopefully Jesse’s learned his lesson and the time away from the fighting and the glamor have literally sobered him up.

Someone put a tent over this circus. Get Jesse “J.T. Monkey” Taylor a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label and turn him loose in the cage with a tricycle and 2 white tigers. Now THAT would make it worth my time.

UFC is putting on more shows both PPV and free these days, talented fighters are not going to be sitting on the sidelines for too long. Dollaway would make sense for this fight, he didn’t take too much punishment in the Sadollah fight, and he should be in shape.

I agree that JT is a clown, but the kid can fight. Great match-up with Dollaway.

Does anyone else agree that the whole JT – ”youre F***in’ out of the UFC bro” was a much hyped and overplayed event attempting to rouse the final episode of a rather lacklustre series. Now I enjoy TUF – like I might enjoy an ice cream or some other simple pleasure that doesnt set the world on fire. However, if you are going to draw lines in the sand of moral conduct then be sure to keep to your side.
If he’s meant to be out, then stick to that. I’d wager there are 20 wrestling standouts who would give their back teeth for the opportunity and who wont behave like an arse. Why didnt he just go home to his family after 6 weeks anyway?
He should stay gone if Dana has any credibility (did I just write that?!) yet if this news is true he’ll probably give the old – ”the fans really wanna see this F***in guy fight” rubbish. All this ranting aside – my hypocritical MMA addication would make me tune in – so I would watch it if they got CB or preferably Matt Hamill to serve him notice, beat him down at his own game and put paid to it all. If they throw him up an easy fight, well thats just shit isnt it. The UFC doesnt need more ‘bad boys’ that never live up to the hype.

I wouldn’t say that I would “love” to see this fight, but I would watch it. Neither fighter seemed very exciting to me on the show. The wrestler vs wrestler matchup here could be interesting, yet possibly very boring. As for JT’s punishment… I feel missing out on the finale was a big enough punishment. He missed out on the possible contract and TUF title.

God, give me a little time before I have to watch CB Dollaway again. How many opportunities is Dana going to give this dude? Well it will probably be another lost by tap out that he didn’t do. What a stoge.

Well, I would like to see if C.B. Dollaway, a much more technical fighter, can beat a genetic freak like Jesse Taylor. This is a fight between a smart fighter and a genetically gifted one. Also, it might be noted that Jesse seems to be a modern day Tito Ortiz, while Dollaway has the tools to be a well rounded fighter (unless he keeps stupidly getting caught in submissions, that is).
The funny thing is, regardless of Dollaway’s abilities and intelligence, I somehow think Taylor could beat him.

personally, i think they couldve held off on this match a little longer, to play up taylor’s “exile”. i wouldnt guess that this fight would be on the main card anyway, so few people will even know its happening. seems better suited for the omaha fight night card.
nevertheless, i hope taylor wins, and apologizes in his post fight interview. everyone likes a comeback story, and complete meathead or not… everyone’s done stupid sh*t in their life. if cb loses again, you think he’ll be back in the ufc? i suppose if guys like jared rollins are still around, then he will be too. guess it depends on the kind of fight they have.

CB doesn’t have the stand up game to deal with Jesse, and he gives up a lot of strength, too.
The next time Jesse fights and wins, he oughta announce in the octagon that he has an after party and it’s at the Palace Station Casino. White’s head might actually explode.

Second thoughts about being to harsh ?? Who knows…. I hope Jesse has got his act together. I have read numerous blogs from guys in the house and they all say the same thing, how cool JT was , how nice , and just plain crazy. He was not a jerk he was however very stupid. I think that he is a beast though and he will do well in the UFC . If he fights CB, look for him to TKO him in the second . CB has neither the heart or strength to fight at this level .

I stated that this was a good idea a while back. You punished JT, he seems to have responded, now get him back in the public eye while he is still recognized. he didn’t kill anyone, and I would say the punishment fit the crime, so give him a chance to get his career back on track. It also serves the UFC well, because people will want to see him.
I really like the matchup of CB, and it could settle some speculation of who was the 2nd best on the show.
As for saying this was planned to drum up interest in the finale…imo, the finale was no better for having CB on it instead of JT. they took a risk having the same fight we saw only a few days earlier.

fake horseshit heat to begin with. I’ll tape it and watch it after I get back from the REAL card that night.

They Probrably made this fight so soon because they know that JT can’t go much longer without a drinking binge. So now whether he wins/losses he has a free pass to drink and say he is a f@#%ing UFC fighter again.

C.B. Dollaway, in his loss to Amir, knows his own stupidity (uncharacteristic for him) in getting caught with the same sub twice. I think that C.B. will have a plan to beat Jesse and train to beat him by stuffing his takedowns, use leg kicks to slow down his shots, and press him against the cage to frustrate him. The problem is that even with all this, Taylor is some sort of Wolverine-type character who seems to have great stamina and the ability to shrug off damage. This will be a great battle, and I hope Dollaway steps up and shows us what he learned in defeat.
