You got to love the guy and Forrest has a a ton of heart and is tough as nails but Rampage is a Beast of a Man and I see him taken Forrest out in the 2nd via TKO..
This is tough one to call. If Forrest can avoid taking a big shot, ala Chuck Liddell, against Rampage I think he can win it. You know for sure that Forrest won’t quit no matter what, Rampage will have to finish him.
I think its time that rampage loose his belt to get a reality check. From somebody that knows him personally he has changed a lot since his streak of good luck in the UFC – and not for the better.
Sometimes you need to get your ass kicked to realize how lucky you really are.
Take note: Don’t go up to Forrest and try to introduce your family, as he might treat you like you are Michael Jackson interviewing to babysit his nephew.
Seriously, Forrest might actually win this fight. I think he knows what he needs to do to win. But the danger or being KTFO is everpresent when you fight Rampage.
Forrest KNOWS he doesn’t want to strike with Rampage.. rephrase: he doesn’t want to BRAWL with Rampage.. if he can pull off a Forrest/Ramirez [In which Forrest basically went all Muhammid Ali on Hector Ramirez] on Rampage, he can win the stand-up.. and i have no doubt that if he’s not just getting totally battered on the ground.. he can pull out the sub.. but he better be ready to get slammed.. he’ll have to choke out Rampage.. cause i don’t that he’s going to tap from some [sarcasm] measly arm-break [/sarcasm]. There’s certain guys in this business that just won’t tap.. and i know Rampage has tapped before.. but.. now, he has a belt.. and he’ll do WHATEVER HE HAS TO DO to keep it.. even if that means fighting with broken limbs..
i want Forrest to win SOOOOO BADLY.. but everytime i think about Rampage in the ring with Forrest, i just cringed.. i mean, Rampage just dismantled the UFC’s #1 striker [Chuck Liddell] in 2 minutes.. and dominated Dan Freakin’ Henderson.. and that’s ASIDE FROM all the crazy crap he did in Japan with PRIDE.. when you just take the time to watch a Rampage HL or something.. you start to feel that it’s IMPOSSIBLE for Forrest to win.. but.. i’m just praying..
I think you’re overstating Rampage’s striking a little bit. He’s also been KO’ed several times in Pride, and been on nearly a year’s layoff now. He didn’t really dominate Henderson (he won, yes, but it’s not like he KO’d him) and he has Chuck’s #, pure and simple. And Eastman… well, he’s inconsistent at best. So I’m just not convinced yet.
I think Forrest will do very well in the standup personally, and I think we might actually see Page going for some clinch takedowns to ground and pound because Forrest will have a bigger reach advantage than most guys Rampage has faced so far in his career.
I do not see Forrest choking him out, Page is a much stronger guy than the Shogun that Forrest faced (RIP) and Page is also a better wrestler than Shogun, my call is Page by GnP 3rd rnd.
Forrest has some intensity on. Still funny, he’s very tough “against pads and gloves”.
My pick. Forrest wins, 2nd Round submission by choke @ 3:48.
Side note – Wasn’t he training at Couture’s before? Looks like he’s moved over to less flashy pastures . . . maybe I’m remembering incorrectly.

Forrest is awesome. I am looking forward to their fight. I dont want either to lose.
It is a tossup to see who wins. I want Rampage to win the most.

I’d be fine with Forrest winning, if it wasn’t for the years following of Dana never letting us forget that “TUF provided a champ.”

I can’t believe he tried to quit coaching in TUF.

#11, you’re forgetting that TUF already produced a champ — Matt Serra KO’d GSP to win the welterweight belt.
