Griffin, Jackson, Guillard and Miller earn $60K in Fight Night Bonuses

July 6, 2008 by Sam Cupitt

MMA Junkie has learned the recipients of the traditional UFC Fight Night bonuses.

  • Forrest Griffin and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson each earned a $60,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus for their 5 round war
  • Melvin Guillard received $60,000 for “Knockout of the Night” after his 1st round KO over Dennis Siver. (Guillard’s KO was also the only (T)KO of the night)
  • Cole Miller earned “Submission of the Night” and $60,000 for his 3rd round triangle choke over Jorge Gurgel.

Congratulations to the winners. It’s hard to argue with any of the choices.

“It’s hard to argue with any of those choices.” You should be a politician, Sam. Being the asshole that I am, I’d say this might have been the first UFC PPV where the bonuses picked themselves. One KO, one good submission, one fight that really mattered. Only two of the main card fights were even entertaining and one was only entertaining because I thought Lytle might actually die. That was just a lackluster event overall. If they’d replaced the title fight with a Bisping vs Some Loser fight, it might as well have been held in England.
