Report: Frank Trigg vs. Makoto Takimoto at Sengoku 4

MMA Junkie has the scoop:

Former Olympic gold medalist and longtime PRIDE fighter Makoto Takimoto (4-4) will go for his third win in four fights when he meets Frank Trigg (16-6) at World Victory Road’s “Sengoku 4″ event.

Trigg today confirmed the Aug. 24 fight with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

“We just finalized it with World Victory Road,” he said.

Trigg’s last appearance inside the cage came at HDNet Fights in December when he recorded an absolutely sick Kimura submission from the bottom position over former UFC veteran and TUF season four alum Edwin Dewees. Trigg has won three of his last four fights, his last loss coming in March 2007 when he lost to Robbie Lawler in a slugfest for the ICON Sport middleweight title.

Takimoto is a long time veteran of the PRIDE organization and Olympic gold medalist in judo and is looking for his third win in four fights. His last fight was a submission loss to Cyborg Santos at Sengoku 1.
