A lightweight clash between Kurt “Batman” Pellegrino and Thiago Tavares will headline the preliminary portion of UFC 88, according to a new report on UFC.com.

UFC 88 will take place on Sept. 6 in Atlanta, GA at the Phillips Arena and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Chuck Liddell and Rashad Evans.

Both Pellegrino and Tavares will be attempting to rebound from losses.

Pellegrino last competed in April, submitting to a triangle choke against Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 13. He is 3-3 lifetime in the UFC and 15-4 overall.

Despite being the favorite, Tavares was knocked out last month by Matt Wiman at UFC 85. The loss dropped Tavares’ career record in the UFC to 3-2.

Kelvin, I’ll be there live also. Do you know if they going to make anymore fights official. They’ve already got many fights official for UFC 89 and UFN15 seems like they are taking a long time to announce fights for this card.
