Stevefiji I agree. The WAMMA belt is a joke. If the UFC isnt involved with it you might as well give it up. They have the top MW, WW, LHW and the top LW P4P in the sport. This org is just wanting money and some lowlife pig fucker came up with this scheme. Its a joke and the belt holds no merit.

Affliction looks like farce by using this belt. It would be better to just use an Affliction belt and put skulls and barbwire around it.

I have a question… Does WAMMA stand for Want Affliction Make Money Association? That is the biggest kiss-ass piece of puff i could ever read from a supposed credible, 3rd party and objective organization!!!!!!!!

and Vitor is not Top 10 on anybody’s list of anything except ‘has beens’

So does ‘very best’ mean anyone in the top 200? Because Vitor would unlikely be in most Top 20′s

So let’s just all read this post again and then try and tell me that WAMMA doesn’t have a VESTED interest in all things NOT-UFC so that they can actually someday have a FREE PIECE OF THE PIE in all things UFC! This is the worst kind of scavenger…. Pathetic.. I was hoping they were going to be so dumb as to actually award a belt and expose themselves for the frauds that they are.

But still, they will only last as long as Fedor fights for Affliction… and given Randy’s most recent court loss, I’d estimate that to be about one more fight (Fedor vs. the AA vs Barnett winner) and then if his silly Russian management has any semblance of a brain, Fedor will say to T-shirt guy “How Taste Fedor in UFC?”

WAMMA’s doing the right thing. They should wait until they can set up matches between fighters who have a solid claim to being the true #1 in the world. Their chance to have title bouts with the legit top fighters will come sooner or later just like it did with Fedor. They’re not a promotion, so they don’t need to be in a hurry to establish anything other than legit champions.

WAMMA is a not so smart idea. I think if there is a unified belt for each weight class then the guys from UFC will come over and fight for that belt, win and take it back with them to the UFC where others have to come to the UFC to fight for it.

i think that they need to do a couple more shows and boost the talent pool of their roster a little bit before they go throwing belts around. thats just my opinion. i like watching both fighters and i like affliction but i don’t like this idea. but if it tickles their pickles than who am i to object.

Your talking like WAMMA is part of Affliction, but its supposed to be an independent body. Lindland vs. Belfort could be for the Affliction 185 title, but WAMMA would look like a total joke if they tired to say the winner of that fight was the undisputed champion at 185 lbs.

This may be the best matchup for an Affliction MW belt, but WAMMA is supported by Affliction, Adrenaline MMA, StrikeForce, M1, and I believe even Elite XC (not positive on that one). So with that said there are far more interesting fights out there for a WAMMA belt, even though I think it’s a ridiculous belt.

I’m not particularly well-versed with WAMMA, but why would Anderson Silva not have this belt? I mean, the #2 listed guy in MW is RICH FRANKLIN. Is there really any question that the Spider should have this belt?

as far as i’m concnerned.. these are the ONLY two MW’s that are worthy of a title right now..

anyone else know any other MW’s they might have??
