Another reason why I am stunned that he made 300K from Affliction, when UFC wasn't even in the bidding for him. It is the fighters job to tell the promotion, go talk to my manager when they make him an offer, and if the fighter is working around his manager then maybe that guy needs to look in the mirror. Lindland has been accused of shady business practices before (the Sportsbook.com ordeal) so I wouldn't be surprised if Quarry's take on things turned out to be more accurate. What developing sport has not had periods of shady tactics and backhanded dealings? Hopefully as the sport grows and becomes more mainstream, shady promoters and self-serving managers/agents will become less and less of a problem.
