Yeah Lindland is still crying because he asked UFC to make him an offer, and they didn't. Another reason why I am stunned that he made 300K from Affliction, when UFC wasn't even in the bidding for him.

It is the fighters job to tell the promotion, go talk to my manager when they make him an offer, and if the fighter is working around his manager then maybe that guy needs to look in the mirror.

Lindland seems like a giant crybaby lately when it comes to Zuffa. 3 Months ago he was dying to get back into the UFC and now he's just running his mouth about the promotion. I think he's just butt hurt.

Wasn't Lindland trying to get back in the UFC a couple of months ago? A lot of things from him make me scratch my head.

All is fair in love and war...or business.
The UFC has no reason not to contact a fighter directly if they see it to be in their interest.

Does anyone think that Affliction was not in contact with Andre Arlovski, Randy Couture, or Tim Sylvia prior to their leaving the UFC? Should they have contacted the UFC first? Of course not. They have no reason to.

It's all about business. And in this world of whining pseudo-Marxists, every business decision seems to prompt a shrill exclamation of "That's not FAAIIR!!" Ridiculous.

I'm not going to go against Lindland's claim but I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's probably a reason why Couture, Tanner, Quarry, Leben, and all of the others that made Team Quest one of the prominent camps in MMA years ago aren't there anymore. Lindland has been accused of shady business practices before (the Sportsbook.com ordeal) so I wouldn't be surprised if Quarry's take on things turned out to be more accurate.

I'm with Aleks. Both Dana White and Matt Lindland have a tendency to make statements strictly for the purpose of damaging the other. Who knows who to believe, so I choose not to believe either.

I take what Lindland says with a grain of salt. He seems to have a perpetual axe to grind with the UFC.

Also keep in mind that Quarry wasn't exactly too happy with Lindland's management (in much the same way Vera was displeased with Dion), alleging that he wasn't privy to much of Lindland's negotiations on his behalf. Also, Lindland and Quarry had a fairly public dissillusinment with each other following this fight, in which Lindland resorted to a lot of name calling and insults, where Quarry seemed to take the higher road.

I'm not saying that Lindland isn't right, but I am just considering the source before taking the accusation as gospel.

Not surprising and not a big deal. What developing sport has not had periods of shady tactics and backhanded dealings? Hopefully as the sport grows and becomes more mainstream, shady promoters and self-serving managers/agents will become less and less of a problem. There is a lot of revenue to be had and that makes for some pretty cut throat actions.
