Great fight! I assumed that it would at least go into the 2nd round but not even close. Varner straight up rocked Hicks.

Yep, have to say ‘I told you so’. Everybody said Hicks would win, but I said after the way Varner handled Razor Rob to win the title that if Jamie could stay out of that guillotine he would win.

Marcus Hicks earned every dollar of that big check he got. Ouch.

    Yep all $16,000 of it.

He had the 2nd highest base pay only behind Condit. He was the third highest paid over all.

Hiromitsu Miura got $5,000 for that 4 round fight-of-the-year (tied with Torres/Maeda). He earned every penny.

Hopefully, they can find him somebody who can have I don’t know some head movement. Watching that fight was like watching Varner hitting a punching bag. Not trying to knock Varner but if some dude let me punch him in the face a good ten times I feel pretty good that I would win that fight also

How was Hicks a pro boxer of >15 bouts. I was not impressed with his stand up game at all (and for that matter his ground game was pretty weak as well). I was impressed with the level of class that Varner showed after the fight, that was great to see. I am looking forward to Varner VS. Cirone, war Varner!
