Juanito Ibarra comments on Rampage Jackson situation

August 5, 2008 by Adam Morgan

MMA Junkie was able to speak with Juanito Ibarra regarding Rampage Jackson’s current situation today and while he didn’t say anything mindblowing, it is nice to hear from the man considering he’s been a ghost since after the Forrest Griffin fight:

“I’m devastated by what he’s been through and some of the things I’ve heard,” said Ibarra. “I’ve not sat down with Quinton to this day to discuss things. I pray for his well-being, and if I helped Quinton out a little bit with his growth in the sport, then I’ve been very blessed and honored to do that. I love this kid with all my heart, and I wish him nothing but the best.”

“I’m not going to get in to storytelling. … It’s not what I’m about,” Ibarra told MMAjunkie.com. “I haven’t sat down with Quinton Jackson, and I’m not going to hear things through sources and through people. This is a kid I’ve been with for almost four years. I have nothing but love and support for him. All I want for Quinton right now is what’s best for him. Whatever he needs from me in any way, I’m here for him and always have been.”

The report goes on to say that Ibarra declined to comment on his relationship with Jackson at the current moment. According to a report from Josh Gross at Sports Illustrated last week, Ibarra and Jackson had split ways following the loss to Griffin but either side has yet to confirm the split.

Ibarra is the man. Anyone who trains under Juanito is extremely lucky and blessed.

Yes he is a good trainer. But if the rumors are true he’s been snaking money from the man. Then he’s got to go. Those sneaky thiefs are the worst.

If you watch the pre-fight special bullshit, that UFC always does before major bouts, Ibarra said that he would stop training Jackson if Griffon were to beat him. It happened, and maybe he actually followed his words.

Actually, I think it is more likely that Rampage was a man of his word. He may very well have challenged Ibarra on his claim of quitting if he lost.

It is pretty obvious that Rampage was not at his best when he fought Griffin, and it’s hard to say why. Rampage could blame Ibarra for it, although it is hard to say he would just dump him over that. It could be that Rampage was lazy on his training regimen, something he is known for.

Could it be the break with Ibarra that helped precipitate his current situation? It was probably part of the whole scenario.

He was stealing from Page , or being real shaddy with sponsors etc .. Saying if you dont pay me under the table then Page wont be wearing your logo or promoting your poroduct and other such things .. When you heard about Rampage rambling on about a “Wolf in sheeps clothes ” , that is what hes referring too , Juanito pushing all his gospel and religion on him from the get go trying too be a father figure adn all that jazz … And in the end he was a piece of crap ..

Rampage is extremly religious and when he found out he felt like Juanito was the devil and very very evil etc .. He wouldnt let ppl in his house that wouldnt say they were ” His Brother and Sister ” religiously speaking and some ppl were confused by that and would stall thinking he meant blood family ” and thats when he was taken in too the hospital .. somebody in the house recgonized the signs and flagged down a cop .. Which they wouldnt do anything unless 3 ppl from the house said he was in danger of himself or others ..

His Dad , Wife , Juanito and a few others were too scared too go against hte fighter which is when a lawyer , coach and friend all said they would say he was a danger .. They then spent hours talking him into going himself so he wouldnt have too be handcuffed etc and they couldnt get him too go.

It will come out eventually …

It is clear now. That Juanito has been blessed. Thank the Lord that he doesn’t have to baby sit Rampage anymore. He has deal with lies, lies, lies. Rampage put on a front that he was a Godly man. Juanito has never stolen a cent from Rampage. It’s just one more excuse from a liar! Juanito is the blessed one. He is free of a demon. You all can listen to the manufactured lies, but the truth will always come out. Just watch and see. Rampage is a loser.
