One question, is huckaby blowing one or all of the staff at 5oz. to keep his job? My friend, have you ever had a valid point on this website? Have you commented on any fight that you didnt turn into a chance to take a cheap unfunny shot at a fighter. If you say no then why is it that you are on a panel discussing upcoming fights when you havent ever seen them fight. Hmmmm…

One thing on Adam Morgan’s comment on Brock Lesnar - a lot of people agree with you that the UFC has been unkind to Lesnar in feeding him top names, and that it is a stupid way to bring up an up and coming fighter. But I think the UFC’s strategy with Lesnar is more complicated than just turning him into a star. When Lesnar came in, the UFC was also trying to prove a point. They were trying to show that this wasn’t “pretend fighting” and that these are serious athletes. They were trying to show a more casual audience that some muscle-bound guy could not just come in and beat up on these “ultimate fighters,” and that there is serious skill invovled. In fact, I think they matched him up with a strong jiu-jitsu fighter specifically to highlight his weaknesses. Kind of the Royce Gracie education for the next generation of fans.

However, now that Lesnar has lost, and they have proven their point, they can match him up against a veteran that he is tailor-made to beat. This will now give Lesnar legitimacy with the more hardcore fans, and show the lay fan that he had to first learn the skills necessary to win in this sport.

So actually, unless Herring KO’s Lesnar with a big knee as he shoots in for a takedown, I think the scenario with Lesnar is working out exactly acording to plan for the UFC.
