Comments on: Affliction “Day of Reckoning” fight card

Affliction needs to pick up Elite XC’s top notch guys…and gals. Cyborg, Carano, Lawler…hell put Kimbo on an undercard somewhere down the road…maybe? Hopefully Koscheck and Cain Velasquez bounce from the UFC because of their greed and arrogance over a video game of all things. Maybe they can sign with Affliction. Sign Ricardo Arona, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum, Kharitonov, and Cro Cop. In fact, I think Overeem and Cro Cop just moved their rematch from DREAM to another organization altogether. I don’t think they’re signed with anyone long term. What the hell are Mighty Mo and Semmy Shilt doing these days? Put some up and coming LHWs and MWs on an undercard. Develop their fighter roister. I like the Matsyshenko signing.

Next PPV needs to have:

Fedor vs. Arlovski/Barnett
Paul Buentello vs. Aleksander Emelienenko
Gina Carano vs. Sacrificial Lamb
Cris Cyborg vs Sacrificial Lamb
Tito Ortiz vs. Matsyushenko/Nogueira
Overeem vs. Ricardo Arona
Somebody Else vs. Who Cares

Now that would be a pretty interesting card. Tap into the little following that Elite XC developed. Get the the stars that are just floating from one organization to another. And if it’s true that Golden Boy wants to put elite boxing matches on these cards, then just im,agine the possibilities!

WAMMA is nothing but a bunch of parasites trying to feast off of the UFC host. They don’t even recognize UFC champs..WTF? How the hell does Fedor fight donuts for 3 years and then he’s instantly in a title fight against a guy who is, at best, #5 in the world. When he wins, that makes him #5 with a bullet (now admittedly, he’s the best HW in the world, but dude, there are rules and he’s gotta take out one or two more of the guys above him and the others have to lose, that’s just the price you are gonna have to pay for taking the money and running for 3 friggin years). WAMMA themselves knows that they are illegitimate, and that have no real value and so instead of trying to do the right thing and find a way to work with the UFC, they go to a pathetic T-shirt company that feigns ‘fighter welafre’ as their bogus assertion and they offer up a paper title.

If WAMMA wants to do good for MMA they have much bigger issues to help and fix then offering bogus titles…

WAMMA are clowns who will soon have Tito fighting for a title and ‘The Law’ soon enough as well… they are jokers who have no integrity and want to jump on a bandwagon of somebody else’s blood sweat and tears. The UFC won, they bought out Pride took out all the rest and they and they alone possess all the undisputed belts…. If anybody wants one of them, let them come and get it, the honorable way, by fighting for it.

I guess if you want to watch various TUF’ers with mediocre records, undermatched fighters like Machida and Florian, and Liddell v. Jardine 19, it is a recycled card.

Arlovski v. Barnett is worth it alone.

Then you hate on Affliction for trying to do exactly what you said. Affliction is the only one supporting WAMMA.

Either you have ADD and your (lack of) attention span made you miss your point.
Or you need to post on Sherdog, because you dont make any sense and you’ll feel right at home there.

I would also like to see Kharitonov with an organization, good suggestion.

What is with all the Affliction hate? Recycled? Does anyone say that about EliteXC with Kimbo & Carano, hello? Not that I’d ever complain seeing her fight. Arent there enough other organizations holding events to give a little variety between Affliction events.

Come on, it is a new organization with big dreams of changing how things are done. It isnt going to happen overnight for even the biggest companies with deepest pockets.

But unlike any other organization, including Dream, they have top 10 world renown names fighting in multiple fights for every event.

Any MMA fan on this site would know at least 6 guys from the Affliction card, whether they are a fan of the fighters or not.

Look at the UFC 90 card, most people might know 3-4 (excluding any of the token TUF fighters that are known because of watching the show, but dont really have much talent).

Lets keep some perspective. This is the organization that gave us the first Fedor fight against a top 10 opponent in years. I loved it & want to see more.

I love this sport.

what the fuck is wrong with some of you idiots, I’ve never seen Barnett fight Arlovski, what do you mean recycled,ya mean like Liddel-Couture 36. Givem a break man, we really need to get behind Affliction, and hopefully they do well to give the UFC a run for their money. It MIGHT possibly creat a unification fight someday (ha-ha).

Did anybody read where Atencio bragged that he spends time signing most of the fighters…. like thats a big deal…. that probably took about as long as the Fedor/Sylvia fight to add 5 more UFC castoffs to the card! Bada Bing!

And what about that mercenary Russian who has let the T-shirt guy flap tattered in the wind, while likely fighting some kind of Japanese freak of nature instead of supporting the Charity of Overpriced Ugly T-Shirts …what a dick, huh? Bada Bam!

And the MTV award for Best Unintentional Comedy Performance in a Disaster Film goes to the entire supporting cast of the sinking ship USS Affliction who take real pride and joy in their tin WAMMA belts, who think their 3 fight contracts will not have them barred for life as scabs from the UFC (gifted and/or funny Russians, Fedor and AA excluded), who believe that their soon to be found on a Salvation Army clothing rack signature T-Shirts are actually cool and attractive and who will be soon looking for “that Moron Guy” Toto Ortiz to be their new anointed savior once Randy loses his court case and his arbitration and Fedor gives up 2 years of his beloved Sambo and goes and fights in the UFC. Baba Boom
