This should be a good fight. Rashad Evans is certainly a top fighter and young and in great condition. Chuck is older and has more experience and punching power. Rashad does not posses the same skills as Jardine and certainly doesn’t have the kicking power. Rashad is a wrestler and Chuck fairs well against wrestlers and defending the take down. Not too many fighters have been able to take Chuck down and end up attempting to stand up and throw. I like Chuck’s chances here as he heads back to the top in attempt to eventually win the title.

blah blah blah….lets not forget rashad is undefeated and the ufc has thrown everything at him to dismantle him but the kitchen sink. adam your gonna eat those words, pour some sugar on chuck, cuz even chucks signature pokes in the eye wont save him this time

Let’s hope Chuck has had Tony Robbins in his camp lately, if so, the Chuck his fans know will show up, and we should see a TKO. If Tony the tiger has’nt been pep talking him and his team, I predict a descent performance for Chuck and a unanimous decision.

Truth, I watched the fight again to give you exact examples; Sure, it’s not like Liddell came out and did GNP or BJJ for the entire fight. After all, he still knows what he is good at. However, this is my commentary on his fight with Wanderlei Silva:

Chuck presses action more than usual in the first minute of the fight.
Liddell also seems to be using his left jab agressively given his 2″ reach advantage.
Round 2 you see Liddell engage in pressing Wandi against the cage and hammering him with elbows. He then switches up and takes Silva down!
(how ofted does that happen?)
Round 3 another takedown, and later a spinning back fist, and a standing barrage of punches. Liddell finished the fight by taking Wanderlei down and hitting him a few times.

Ok, certainly you must note a few differences from the Iceman’s usual fighting style; This is what I mean by “switching it up”.

Liddell’s bread and butter is and always has been beating the piss out of wrestlers. No formula change needed. Rashad is going to sleep.

It won’t be a long night for Rashad. I can’t see this fight lasting anymore than 2 or 3 mins. Provided of course if Rashad doesn’t run like a scared girl for a round. Even if he does Chuck will corner him and maximum bang out will ensue. I be there in person to see Rashad get a natural ass whuppin. Rooting for sugar but betting on ice.

I don’t see Rashad as having much of a chance against Chuck.
Liddell looked great in his last fight, and he seems willing to switch things up when he loses, the mark of a great fighter.

He won’t fall for the leg kicks that Keith Jardine leveled against him to eek out a win, so Rashad had better think twice about expecting them to work.

Rashad is great on the ground, but his punching power does not equal Liddell’s, and he will stuff most of his takedown attempts.

It may be a looong night for Rashad in my opinion.

Thats what people have been saying since he was on TUF. Chucks getting old and fighters can get real old just in between rounds, and he trains with Jardine. Russ you probably said the same thing before chuck fought Jardine. Chucks old back peddling counter hood throwing ass is gonna get caught again.

Yeah! Thats my man right there. He’s gonna get some of chucks old ass. Sounds like he has alot of respect for chuck though. Greg Jackson is going have Rashad ready to rock. Especially when he is training with a guy who has recently beat Chuck.
