Arlovski appears at Pavement Wars; Medrano wins WW Title

August 23, 2008 by Matt Cava

Andrei Arlovski was in Chicopee, Mass., Saturday night hosting “Pavement Wars.” an MMA event put on by the National Amateur Fight League promotion. The fights were held outside, in a parking lot. This was a night of professional fights, with several fighters from the former Extreme Fighting International promotion on the card.

In the main event, Rhino Fight Team’s Mike Medrano won the vacant National Amateur Fight League welterweight title against local favorite Brenden Weafer by unanimous decision. Weafer, Full Contact Fighter Magazine’s 2007 Rookie of the Year, had his jaw broken by Medrano during the bout but hung on until the final bell.

Sounds like a real high rent affair

Why hate on a company who is trying to promote the sport of MMA? Most fights across this country aren’t UFC fights. If there were no other promotions company’s how would the sport grow and where would the fighters start out at? Just a few words to chew on.

Wrongdoer, some people aren’t aware of MMA outside of ppv.
