This movie was pretty bad imho, although not as bad as it could have been.

I saw this movie already (3 weeks ago in fact, one of the advantages of living overseas). It’s absolutely terrible…BUT… as much as i hate to admit it, Randy was not, in any way, the reason. Randy wasn’t bad. Compare his effort to Arnold’s first major performance in Conan and Randy wins an Oscar.

I first want to go on record and say that I thought Randy was totally pathetic in Red Belt…stiff, not believable, with a vapid, vacant look and with piss poor elocution. So understandably, I watched this with an intent to laugh my ass off with him putting on a similar performance into some sort of a silly fantasy swashbuckler flick… I thought he’d be so bad, that his acting career would be 100% over and he’d have to get back in the octagon soon for cash. Well, in my opinion, he came off dynamic enough and competent enough to get another shot…but if he selects another turkey like this, he should be banned from the big screen just for taking on roles in films this horrible.

If i was a betting man, I’d say Randy might have a future playing bad guys, sort of a pre-Soprano James Gandolfini and grab some of the type of the smaller, early roles he took (True Romance, Get Shorty, etc). Please, I am NOT saying Randy can act like Tony S (he’ll never be 1/10th as good) I am only being honest and saying that Randy showed a little bit of game here when I thought he was void of any acting talent whatsoever.

    Cheers Mates

I just finished watching “Cyborg Soldier” starring Rich Franklin and it was better than this film, despite having probably 1/10 the budget.

This movie reminded me of those old Xena and Hercules shows. It needed naked women. And blood. Otherwise, what else does this kind of movie have going for it?

Randy was OK, but they had to cover his voice. His voice is just too damn soft. I agree, he might make a good villian, but they’ll always have to cover his voice and he’ll always be relegated to low budget sci-fi and fantasy roles. I really hope this film wasn’t the reason he decided to quit the UFC and focus on his “movie career”.

I went to rent this the other day and Blockbuster was all out. Can I blame that on Randy?
