Dana White says Rampage Jackson will fight despite charges

Now that Rampage has been formally charged with felony evasion, reckless driving, and driving down the wrong side of the street stemming from his police chase after the loss to Forrest Griffin last month the question has become if and when Rampage will fight again this year. According to Dana White, he’ll fight this year and it’s looking like it could be as early as November 15 according to this Yahoo! Sports report:

“Of course he’ll fight,” White said. “If he was doing drugs, if he had been drunk, if he had gone out there and done what he did because he was pissed off at someone, that would be a completely different story. But he was ill. And in this company, we support our friends and anyone who works for us when they’re ill and have problems. He was ill, the incident occurred, and now he’s fine.

“Rampage feels awful about the woman’s baby, but he had nothing to do with it. And the (traffic incident) occurred because he was very ill and not with him in control of his faculties.”

The report also states that Wanderlei Silva is unlikely to be Rampage’s opponent. The question then becomes who will he fight? There has been much speculation of a possible rematch with Shogun Rua although Rua continues to claim that he will make his return to the Octagon in December. If Silva isn’t likely to fight Rampage and Rua can’t return until December then who does that leave? Or does Rua try to return a month earlier than he expected? Stay tuned.

You know, they could do the Forrest rematch if he’s able to plead down to probation. Jackson was already talking shit on him today.

I want him to fight Wandy. After he beats him, everyone can agree that he deserves a rematch for the title. Not that he doesn’t already deserve one. Dana is right. He seems fine. He literally needs to fight through his problems to grow as a man.

I don’t think a fight with Wandy is a smart one for him to take or the UFC to set up! Rampage doesn’t matchup well at all w him and he was clearly dominated by him in the past! Stylistically it is a terrible matchup for him. I think a comeback fight for him mentally would be smart, maybe fight someone from the journeyman category. O don’t think there is any question whether or not he deserves a rematch or not but when he is healthy mentally and physically is another question! Btw Rampage u lost, deal with it! Although controversial, u lost!

He needs to face thigns for respect:

1.) Wandy and comments he made about him being the “Chump Murderer” and how Pride gave Wandy those fights. Lets find out? Or, does rematching a guy he knows he COULD get a lucky punch on seem easier to him than, I don’t know, facing a guy who could possibly KILL him? Came close twice now, how LUCKY is Rampage? If Wandy dodges those huge KO shots Rampage tries to counter with (Henderson, Chuck, Forrest; same gameplan but only worked on Chuck so far) then it ends the same way. Rampage improved accuracy and PLACEMENT of his counter-shots, thats the ONLY difference in his style now versus before. To hit Wandy though, being shorter with the same or less reach, you MUST go into Wandy’s “wheel house” and it ends the same way like I said.

2.) Shogun; same thing, Rampage made excuses. Lets see it. If he goes to cover up his face which works against a BOXER or guy ONLY ATTACKING WITH THEIR HANDS (such as Chuck 95% of the time now) then he gets kicked in the RIBS, clinched while he freezes, then the STORM that is Shogun arrives and the whrilwind of shots takes over. Forrest was IN AND OUT, top to bottom, left to right, and AVOIDED most of it. I KNOW Shogun and Wandy both have no respect for Rampage because of his excuses and trash-talk.

3.) Rampage makes fun of Forrest, who SAID “We have to do it again.” YET, all over the internet he is clowning on EVERYONE from Chuck to Wandy to you-name-them. If he wins, he is “Better” and if he loses, it was cheating, the refs were biased, or whatever else. If he beats Shogun and Wandy, give him a shot again at whoever has the title. ALSO, he can face Machida also, maybe. His fans think Forrest fought for POINTS??? LMFAO, see what Machida will do.
