If Shamrock comes out with a throw and shoot mentality he will get knocked out. If he shoots first @ worst he can pull guard and work submissions. If he stands @ all with Kimbo he will get knocked out!!! Kimbo has yet to prove he can sprawl and defending James Thompsons submissions is nothing compared to a pancrase champions and Kimbo had a hard time with that! If this goes past the first minute I think Shamrock wins via submission! I hate u Ken, but I respect you, Kimbo I hate u more and have no respect for you!

Maybe Ken should try that.
Despite all the loopholes in the interview,I still want Ken Shamrock to win.
If Jared Shaw ain’t cage side telling the ref to stand them up,Ken’s got a submission expert’s chance.

Fantastic interview, Sam.

It seemed that at a point Shamrock got a little testy with you…or was it that he just got passionate about what he was saying? The guy seems pretty hot tempered, and I was wondering what his disposition was when you were asking him about some of his personal relationships with his “brother” in relation to his Dad, ect.

I think it is probably in Shamrock’s best interest to at least “say” he wants to test Kimbo on his feet, but unless he is retarded, he has to know that a single punch will put him down again. His chin seems glass at this point.

I cannot say that Ken is not actually being strategic, but judging his most recent fights, I don’t think he generally plans anything out. I hope in this case I am wrong.

If he can take Kimbo down and make it a fight of submissions, he has a very good chance of winning. But somehow I think he will probably get beat up’ and beat out.

Time will tell….

Sam, thanks for the interview. Ken Shamrock is crazy, but he has accomplished so much in the sport, I cant fight the temptation to read about him.
Usually I like Ken less after an interview because he sabotages it with his crazy emotions. You were able to keep him together enough to get answers to good questions.

wow, hate to jump on the nuthugger bandwagon :p, but sam excellent interview, u never held back and asked all the questions others would be afraid to ask. very enlightening and because of it i have a little more respect for ken and less for frank. i do wish he woulda been more forthcoming on the steroid question but whatever, good job.

? On an unrelated note. I just read KJ’s little note about his problems with Elite XC management over at MMA weekly and I get the impression that he doesn’t like Jared Shaw. A couple’a years ago I read an interview with Bas about a ‘Jerry’ or ‘Gary’ Shaw over in Pride. And how this ‘Jerry’ or ‘Gary’ Shaw axed Quadros and gave El Guapo a hard time.Does anyone know if this is the same guy? Because that would explain alot.

That’s never the reaction I get watching Ken’s recent fights! I may get out of my seat and leave because I can’t bear watching an aging fighter get beat like that. If that’s what he means by jacks us off, then yes.

i’d love to see him pull off a crazy win (a la george foreman in 94), but i’m just not sure it’s in the cards anymore. and if he DOES beat kimbo, i think it would be really honorable to call it a career during his post fight interview.

I agree with you Jim….. it makes me nervous to hear Shamrock clearly stating that he thinks he can test kimbo on the feet.. I mean seriously dude??? Sham, wake up and smell the coffee brother, dont stand and bang with kimbo… take him down and do your thing… If Ken stands and bangs with Kimbo, Slice will catch him..
