The problem might not be that the UFC is bashing it's competition into dust it might just be that most of the competition is botching their own efforts. Then you have Strikeforce soldering along making money and growing in it's market and they even managed to get a show on NBC.Slow and steady wins the race isn't just the moral to a children's story. Instead of trying to immediately jump to the top of the mountain perhaps promotions should start with just trying to make money off events. I think we have seen the last of "rival" promotions. The market cannot bear two majors at this time, and the UFC is the only one who has shown the capability to make the financials work, as well as the deepest roster in the history of the sport. I am going to assume, that if they were going to pay someone a good amount of money to take a beating, they will pay it to a veteran that has credentials and respectable amongst casual audience.
