Roger Huerta would punch Nate's face off his skull. The kid takes too much damage from strikes - he's tough as hell, (Sylvester the Cat Impression notwithstanding) but he's got to move that head and work some counters. A body can only weather so many fist storms, and if he's going to have a long career, he has to minimize the bludgeonings he takes.
He's got to beat someone like Huerta to get a shot at a Florian, Sherk, Stevenson. Those guys are all in a different atmosphere of strikers - Nate's got to work his standup and make his acumen match his toughness.

i just think Neer is too smart to make some detramental mistake..
he IS aggressive, and he DOES like to push the pace..
but i don't see him leaving himself open for armbars or triangles..
don't get me wrong, i love me some Diaz Bro's.. and i'm rootin' for Nate..
but the way i see it,
either Neer wins a decision, or Nate catches him with a late triangle..
Neer's gonna have to go to sleep to lose..
because he'll withstand ANYTHING ELSE.. it HAS to be a choke..

i find it wierd that i seem to be the only person picking Neer to win.. and i'm not even picking him because i don't like Nate, or think Nate's overrated or anything.. i don't.. i like Nate, and i think he's one of the top guys in the LW division, and he definitely has the resume' to show it..
but, i just think it's wierd that everyone's so quick to pick him over Neer..
Neer's got a beast of a record.. with 10 KOs and 10 Submissions, he's perfectly well-rounded and a tough test for anyone..

there is one major thing Nate has going for him though and that's that his brother submitted Neer..
it can't hurt to be able to train with someone that has submitted your opponent..

both of these guys have tremendous heart and this fight could make its way onto the FOTY list..

i can't wait..

I would love to see Diaz in a title shot within the next year. Regardless of who is champ, BJ, Sherk, Joe Daddy, he would get absolutely smashed. Top 10 maybe, top 5 no way in hell

I agree that Neer will get too aggressive. Diaz is on an outstanding win streak in a very stacked division. Diaz has showed that he won't panic if he is on the bottom taking punishment. He shows that he is willing to weather the storm and take what is giving to him which leads to a surprise submission. I see this fight going to the later rounds. Diaz hasn't had to go three full rounds yet. I see it being a tough fight for Nate but I see him coming up big in the third and stealing the victory!
