God Ken’s commentary was awful during that fight. His interview with Thomson following his win was literally some of the worst I’ve EVER seen.
His first question is totally irrelevant:
“When Ashe raised his hand up and slapped your hand after you smacked him with that shot, did you see that as a weakness?”
Of course Josh was just like “no, sometimes when someone hits you with a good shot you high five, its a sign of respect”
What kinda question is that Ken? That’s the first thing that comes to your mind to ask the guy who just KO’ed your boy?
and then shammie says “When you caught him with that punch and he went down, and Cecil said ‘hey, enough’ and you jumped on him and hit him again, did you not hear him?”
Ok first off Shammie, it was Herb Dean, not Cecil Peoples. I realize they’re both black but you can tell Tiger White apart from other black people right? Second, did you even see that stoppage? Do you not have a replay monitor?
The hilarious part was they actually showed the replay and it was clear that Herb Dean wasn’t in there stopping the fight after Ashe went down, he intentionally let Ashe have a chance to recover. He just moved in closer to the fighters for a better view of the GnP, he didn’t tell Josh to stop till he had clocked Ashe three or four good ones on the ground.
Ken, why can’t you just ask normal post fight interview questions instead of blatantly and inaccurately accusing someone of disobeying ref direction?
Also I am getting really tired of him calling all the asian guys “sneaky”. I think he musta called Sakuraba sneaky about fifty times in Pride commentary, and true to form he called Misaki sneaky at this event. And he spent the whole time talking up Rigg’s boxing and saying how Misaki’s only chance was to take Riggs down… well, I guess he was sorta right, since Misaki took him down with a punch. Too bad the stoppage was arguably early.
