Babalu prepares for return

Renato “Babalu” Sobral planned to fight Bobby Southworth during last weekend’s Strikeforce show. Unfortunately, that fight did not take place. Sobral pulled out of the fight due to a knee injury.

“I had a torn meniscus,” said Sobral, “the surgery is already done. I will recover well.”

Sobral hopes the recovery is quick. He is planning to fight in just a couple of months, and he hopes it is for a championship.

“I am looking forward to fighting again on November 20th,” Sobral said, “I hope the fight is with Bobby Southworth for the (Strikeforce light heavyweight) title.”

The fight with Southworth would be Sobral’s first fight backsince Sobral defeated Mike Whitehead at the July 19th Affliction show.

Dude, its Strikeforce. *I* could get a title shot there if they thought I could draw viewers.
