I beg to differ on a few points. One was that Kimbo started to believe the hype EliteXC was pushing out to the media. There are videos on You Tube that show Slice calling out Chuck Liddell. There are videos out there of slice claiming to be unbeatable and stating that he was tired of hearing about Brock Lesnar being the future of MMA. He even went so far in the video to call Lesnar a joke and say that he was the future of MMA. If that is not Slice making claims to MMA dominance.

Stop Hating on Kimbo and Elite XC.

Sure they don’t compare to UFC and we all know that. And Kimbo is not up there either with real MMA Heavyweights or even middleweights.

But ALL YOU GUYS can’t deny that you will WATCH the next Elite XC fight on CBS with Kimbo.

The last CBS airing grossed higher viewers compared to their last 2.

All I know, EVERYBODY at work after that weekend was talking about HOW KIMBO GOT KOd.

But yet, NOBODY(Non MMA fans; Normal People) knows at work that Chuck Liddel got KOd by Rashad Evans.

That’s what ELite XC and Kimbo did.

It made EVERYBODY (not just the Die Hard MMA fans) know about MMA.

I don’t need to direct any hate toward Kimbo but how is it wrong to say that he does not belong in MMA? He does not belong in the spot light, on EXC, or even as a mentionable as a MMA fighter. When a man goes 0-4 against low level opponents, nobody wants to pay to watch him fight. When a man beats old timers and hand fed cans only to lose to legitmate low level opponents (who are a weight class below them) nobody should have to pay to see them fight either. So Kimbo made his money while he could, does that change the fact that he knew he was beating nobodies and that given a true opponent he’d lose? does that change the fact that Kimbo knew when he challenged Chuck that they would never fight? Does it matter that Kimbo knows he shouldn’t be on the main stage but does it anyway to make his money? To Adam Morgan it does not, to me it does. Would you be happy if during a fire I showed up and claimed I was a fireman? No you would not, its fraud. Maybe if I saved your cat from a burning building you wouldn’t care but thats the equivilant of if Kimbo had put on realistic and exciting fights, he didn’t so he was a fraud. Sure if I was in Kimbo’s position I’d do the same thing, make a boat load of money. But in doing this I would expect Kimbo to do the same thing as me if he were in my position, Kimbo did not come off as a good ambassador to our sport so I think I’m justified in my above claims.

Sam, if kimbo did say all them things than your right.But i didn’t here anything about him saying he was the baddest fighter ever.Not saying he didn’t,but from what i saw he’s been relativley modest.Regardless of what was said though elite the one who propelled him to the status of the face of mma.That all that i’m saying.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR KIMBO. I quote Dana White in saying “KIMBO SLICE SUCKS”. Kimbo said this and said that, and he was the baddest fighter alive, so don’t make it look like Elite XC’s falt cause its not. Kimbo made the mistake of saying all the crap that he did and was set up to fight washed up fighters. He din’t get what he wanted which was a RETIRED FIGHTER to fight, instead he fought someone THAT NEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. Quite making excuses for the man, he wanted his name all over now he does but its not the tune that he nore his YOUTUBE fans wanted, which is singing FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD, IM BAD CAUSE IF FIGHT WASHED UP OLD MEN HAHAHA.

I think that the Kimbo Slice loss was just that…a loss. He is a figher and anyone who is a true fighter can tell u that losing is all part of the game(not the best part). So for everybody being on his back about the loss and the so called “set-up fights” take another look at it. He is a internet champion of street fighting and yes there is a big spotlight on him when he stepped into the cage, but remember he is just a rookie in this MMA fighting so in my mind he is just going through the roughness of not having the experience in the cage. I think that he is going to cause big problems for the whole heavyweight division in a few years when he becomes more rounded in this sport. His biggest test haves just arrived, how he bounces back from this loss will tell us everything about Kimbo Slice! Thoughts of Blake Martin

Agreed. Kimbo is great for the sport either way though. He brings in farweather fans that would have never watched MMA normally and he teaches them (by his fight style vs the other fights) that MMA requires tons of preparation, talent, training.. and other people are more skilled at it.

Look at Gina Carano, she is a wicked MMA fighter compared to Kimbo.

The ANTI-Kimbo hype train.I barely even like the guy but because I am reasonable about his career and don’t have an intense personal hatred of him lately I end up defending the guy. Yeah, he’s nowhere near the fighter EliteXC built him up to be. He’s still a goddamn person!

How is that relevant to whether he has the right to call them out? As long as he would actually fight them given the chance (and I think he would, especially now, although his management may not like the idea) then he is totally justified to call out Liddell.

Forget about Liddell or Lesnar I think Kimbo would have a tough time beating any of UFC’s heavyweight division. At the same time, he doesn’t claim that he can; his response to Liddell was a personal retaliation not something he just came up with. Kimbo is a very mediocre MMA heavyweight and I don’t seen him ever getting very far beyond that.
The whole Kimbo hype machine is a tough pill to swallow because whilst I don’t want the uneducated viewers that tune into his fights to take it as a general representation of MMA, I do want uneducated viewers to tune in. The way I see it is that if viewers watch a Kimbo fight and go on to become a fan of MMA, (inevitably realising in the process that Kimbo is an overhyped, fairly poor one-dimensial fighter), then it’s tough to argue that Kimbo Slice isn’t ultimately good for the sport.

Man, Kimbo does not want any piece of Liddell OR Lesnar. Is there anyone here that think he would win with either?

Liddell hits alot harder than Seth Petrucelli, for one.

Lesnar would put Kimbo on his back within 2 seconds of the bell and hammer him until he was just a raspberry colored stain in the mat.

These are things that we need to put it all in perspective. Oh yeah, I am sure that Kimbo can beat up the kid flipping burgers at “in and out” burger….

Rich I don’t see the problem with Kimbo calling Chuck out in response to his comments. It was completely appropriate IMHO, I mean they are fighters so if another fighter disses their skills challenging them is the logical thing to do.

Did anyone see the video shot by Kimbo’s crew where he calls out Chuck Liddel. Was in response to Chuck commenting that if he had a crew follow him around with a camera he could make some sweet street fight knockout tapes too.

What does mr ferguson decide to do? He makes a video calling out Chuck Liddel, asking someone to set something up, even if they need to go bare knuckle old school style.

Now EXC is as shady as they come in this business and I sure hope people dont allow them to turn MMA into what boxing has become. And I definately blame elitexc for 90% of the kimbo BS you hear out there but the man does believe his own press. I dont feel bad for him at all.

I would like to see him fight a real elite fighter cuz Seth sure as hell isnt one.

Let me just tell it like it REALLY is. We all saw Kimbo for the first time on youtube fighting pussies. Kimbo is a thug, who goes around with his other thugs acting like a “gangsta” in those videos. The reason we hate Kimbo is because he acts like the wanna-be gangsters in high school who would show up at a party with his crew and screw up everybody’s good time.

The reason we loved the Seth fight is because this big black, thugged out dude who hangs out on porn sets and always brings his loud mouthed posse everywhere got totally destroyed by a smaller WHITE dude with pink hair.

I hate him even more after the fight because of what his posse said to Seth and his wife. I’m not racist I just tell it like it is. We don’t want thugged out, overhyped, unskilled trash in MMA.

like most people i’m glad he was exposed for what he is,an amatuer.I don’t mind kimbo,he’s entertaining in that tyson sort of way,lovem or hatem.But i’m just glad that maybe now elite won’t feel obligated to protect him.And hopefully he can relax get the training he needs from bas,and eventually fight the fights people want to see.I would still like to see him fight rodgers because of the bad blood there.we’ll see.

i love watching kimbo fight because i like the raw gritty style which he came from, i never believe he would go like 50 and 0, and dominate everyone, i just enjoy watching him fight, is there anything wrong with that? if someone thought he would be able to hang with legit heavyweights right now, then they need to have their heads examined, to me Kimbo is kind of a new age Tank Abbot at this stage of his game, but at this point he doesnt have the KO power that tank HAD
