i do think barnett is a tougher fight for fedor.
although i think arlovski would be tough for barnett.

Arlovski was good at sambo but not multi time world champ good so Fedor has the edge in grappling. Fedor doesn’t get enough credit for his striking. People talk about Arlovski’s boxing like that’s impressive (which it is for – boxing), then they talk about how folks like Machida have karate that frustrates a boxing style. Why don’t we talk about how Fedor’s striking is also similarly frustrating? Both Sylvia and Big Nog supposedly have great boxing, which Fedor nullified easily (Sylvia match didn’t really show it enough – the Nog fights were better examples). Only chance Arlovski really has is a “puncher’s chance” of Fedor “getting caught”. Still, always good to see Fedor fight. I am slightly more interested to see if Couture can actually survive Lesnar’s brutal gnp and if Mir can hang with Nog.

JunDaSilva – Actually, Fedor and his management said that UFC offered them the most money. They just didn’t want to be in an exclusive contract. I think the offer was a $2 million signing bonus, and$1.5 mil per fight.

One word to moron “FightFan” Dude quit sucking the UFCs nuts already you know nothing about MMA and probably have a Randy Savage poster taped up to your wall.
Affiction has came up and has had the balls to actually pay their fighters some serious cash unlike the UFC and everyone knows this and we should care that our money goes to the fighters.
Dana was too cheap to pay Fedor what he’s worth, thats why he’s crapping in his pants right now trying to talk smack and trying do what he can to stop Affliction. PRIDE was their competion so he bought it and killed it, but he can’t buy every MMA company out there.
We pay a lot of money for tickets, merchandise and PPVs, why shouldn’t the fighters we love to battle get some real money instead of chump change.
I hope Affliction is here to stay because they care about the sport and their fighters.

if the fight happens i see fedor finishing him quick on the floor.after watching his last fight i thought arlovski looked very beatable on the floor. if the guy he just fought could hold him down till the ref stood them up then i think fedor will roll right through him.fedors strength alone on the floor will be too much for arlovski. (yes arlovski will hit the floor) as for how theyre gonna present it and whether your gonna buy it , cmon you know you are its freakin fedor.

This is a better heavy weight matchup than anywhere else in the world can produce right now, No. 1 vs No. 4 in the world (not this pound 4 pound crap). So to not be that interested is to not be interested in the best 5 fighters in the world.
This fight will not go the distance dispite fedor’s hand injury, he has had this injury for bout 5 yrs.
And why not call fedor the wamma champ? he is the wamma champ and beat a TWO TIME! UFC champ to get that title. Sure the title is only new but 5 or 6 out of the top 10 ranked HW fighters in the world are going for that title and they have to start with a champ at some stage.
As for this card PLEASE PLEASE have Tito vs Babalu , Belfort vs Lindland and then throw us a real curve ball by announcing Cung Le vs a big name or Frank Shamrock vs someone. I want to see a real event, not just another event.

Damon, exactly, a few of us use to go to the bar and watch every UFC for free, it was nice having a free PPV but I would spend at least forty dollars at the bar. It is way cheaper to get four people together, order the PPV and have some cocktails at home. I haven’t watched one at the bar in two years.

Please don’t refer to him as WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko like it means something important..
WAMMA has no credibility.

We all know Fedor’s the best in the world.
To call him “WAMMA champion” as his intro seems kinda degrading right now.
So don’t push it here.

He must be good…because he’s the WAMMA champ.

How about just- Fedor .
I’m pretty sure we ain’t gonna get him mixed up with that other Fedor….who AIN’T the WAMMA champ.

Wow, no crazies have predicted Arlovski yet.

I think whats going to happen is 40 percent of unbiased people are going to pick Fedor by submission. 10 percent will take Arlovski, with decent reasoning. The other 50 percent are going to blindly take Arlovski because they are pride haters and Arlovski was in the UFC.

This is a good fight to see. It has been a long time coming too. It think it might be a little better if it were in a cage but no big deal. The cool thing about MMA is that you can see various promotion’s on different level’s of broadcast settings a lot more often . Not to mention the internet. The fighting surfaces aren’t always the same, but venues big and small across the globe pack the place to catch a glimpse. Mostly everyone is there for the fight’s and as fans, we want to see it. The UFC does it it best. Everyone else can also play too.

Fedor will defeat Andrei. I think it’ll end up going 2 rounds. Who knows? Emelianenko has a couple of high profile bout’s out there he can do before going to the UFC. If he does decide to go. I think his first fight there will be against Randy Couture. All the things that are about to unfold will set that fight up to happen before 2010. At least I hope so. Cheers!

1/24 is perfect for Affliction. They dont care it is between 2 UFC events, they are just happy to have a day where UFC does not have an event. Affliction held back waiting for Dana to show his hand and make that decision for their 1/17 show.

And now watch……..Dana will figure something out to combat this.

And for that comment about it going to decision….about Fedor having a hand injury….
1st of all Fedor would not take this fight if he didnt feel his hand would fully heal.
Fedor will beat AA well before the time limit is up…..

How the hell is Arlovski vs Barnett and the winner facing Fedor better than Arlovski vs Fedor then the winner facing Barnett better Mike Wolfe?

Having the best heavyweight in the world in action as much as possible must be better than having a fight about who will face him as a main event.

Fedor is going to either mercilessly GNP to a TKO or Armbar Arlovski faster than you can say Mother Russia.

I’ll still buy the PPV though. I loved Afflictions first show, flaws and all, and hope for many more.

Hopefully Fedor vs. Barnett happens at Affliction III. (Yes, I’m an optimist.)
