I still don’t understand the flack that Bisping is getting. He fought an intelligent fight and picked Leben apart from range. If you watch the fight again you’ll see he landed plenty, and if you don’t beleive your eyes then take a look at Leben’s face after the fight. You can’t stand and trade with Leben. Look what happened to Terry Martin, and he was winning that fight.

Full agreement on Chris Lytle. I have given him some hell because of his record but you have to love a fighter that brings it all to the table every fight. He’s a great test for up and coming fighters. You never know, he might string together a few wins and get a title shot some day.

As far as Penn vs St Pierre goes. GSP all the way. Penn will not be able to keep the pace. He will gas by the end of round 3. It was a close decision last time, but GSP has improved while Penn has stayed about the same.

Great props to Lytle!

Sometimes I feel he doesn’t get enough credit for who and what he is in MMA. He is one of the most well-rounded fighters out there, and he ALWAYS makes an exciting fight. He could have schooled Paul Taylor on the ground, but he wanted to give the fans their money’s worth.

Lytle puts up a good fight, even to the best of the best, as evidenced by him never having been finished in a fight (I know, I know, Thiago Alves cut him), and if you must have a gatekeeper, you couldn’t do better than Lytle.

Also, he may be one of the nicest guys ever to fight. He is a fantastic ambassador for the sport, and I could watch him on every UFC card every month if I could.

Lytle does rule, he’s so exciting to watch. So is Davis.

GSP outlasts Penn in five rounds. Gets a TKO victory in round 5 via ref stoppage from ground and pound.

I agree with you Keegan- to truly know what it takes to win a fight, you’d have to fight yourself. I understand, however, that bloggers who only talk about the excitement rating of fights do represent those fans who maybe aren’t as hardcore as others, but if they aren’t into mma enough to understand the skill aspect of the sport and they just want excitement, then I’ve no idea why they are wasting their time writing and reading about fights instead of watching them. and it’s like you said- if they don’t know what they’re talking about, they shouldn’t act like they do.

I train and fight out of Team Quest and Elite mma and i have made a great living fighting and investing in a few MMA clothing and gear co before they grew into the giants they are today.But im really sick of guy’s that dont fight talk about fights like they know what it takes to win or lose.All i see online and in theys blogs are shit talk about fighters and people that helped build this sport into what it is today.
Its great that there are so many great fans today but while mma grows so does they so called experts/know it alls that write crap that does zero for the spot.

Marcus Davis is just “decent enough to beat up mid level talent” because he hasn’t won any big fights, but Chris Lytle is a “fighter’s fighter” because he does the same thing?
