I dont understand the “suspect chin” comment since when does Liddell have a suspect chin, have you watched any of his other fights? Even watch Liddell vs Belfort and thats one example. That would be Vitor Belfort as you seem to be new to the sport.

I have nothing against chuck, but I don’t think he deserves a fight against anderson. He just came from a couple of devastating loses. That would simply not be fair to those who’ve been working their ass off to get a shot.

IMO, Anderson is already one of the biggest stars in ufc. He doesn’t need chuck.

not saying i dont believe chuck could win that fight, but its totally unneccessary, why would chuck care wether or not silvas star explodes or whatever. dana would be better served giving chuck a relative nobody to beat up, and let him gradually work his way up the ladder again, for his sake and for danas since if chuck loses his appeal dana cant make dough off him. chucks one of my favorite fighters and im sure im not the only one to order a card just to see him fight. i just think he deserves to have a prolonged career and i think by risking a loss against silva he may lose that opportunity

No interest in seeing this fight or even Silva v. Marquardt again. I still think we should see Silva v. Okami – let Silva avenge his “loss” and move on to another challenge. If he beats Okami, then maybe have a catch-weigh “superfight” with GSP (if he beats Penn).

How can you guys be so blind to see that the fight will never happen. Chuck is Dana’s golden boy. He won’t let the fight happen unless Chuck has a few buffer fights first. But then again here comes the double edged sword. Line up some nobodies for chuck to fight and get accused of being a hypocrite. Or, let the fight happen and chuck looses, well there goes the golden boy. I honestly think the fight would be great and if chuck does loose a few teeth than that would just be better for chuck and dana’s friday nights.(because teeth hurt) I think everybody should just accept the fact that chuck is done, a hasbeen, and washed up. He should just get into fighter scouting or training.

If Silva is eager to fight soon, as they are saying, put him on the December card and take the Okami match that he deserves. I would think Anderson would want to clear up that blemish on his record and then he could be done at middleweight after clearing it out and can move up from there to finish his career at LHW. I would still like to see him face Okami, Marquart again or Leites at MW but there are so many good match ups at LHW. Although I do see this as a bad match up for Chuck, what the hell let’s see it! Make these last fights count!

I dont see the appeal for this fight;Yes we have two of the biggest names in MMA,but really I disagree w this writer,& feel that true MMA fans (like myself) can find & would like multiple other match ups; Am so sick of people only knowing & talking about the big names,MMA is as big as its ever been,& I would think this writer here with the more available resources than me could have thought of some thing more insightfull, I expected better. There are tons of match ups to be made that would be better for the weight class & its progression;Sure the money comes 1st but really some of these fights coming up dont feel right.I mean no disrespect to any of these fighters but Cote Vs silva(Bcause there was no 1 else,Sorry Cote)Evans Vs Griffen(he knocked out the poster boy who was predicted to b next if he won,he lost so to the spoils go the victer)but why not Evans Vs Rampage 1st,or Henderson Vs Marquet,if so Liddell Vs R.Franklin would bank,& would do little damage to either fighter i retrospective,if Rich loses,he lost to chuvk & is new at 205 far from a tittle shot any way & liddel beat some 1 w a name,if Rich wins,he has a huge following & thts more bank for them,Sokoudjou Vs liddell,Brandon vera S.bonner,V.silva Vs L.cane, or even S.cantwell coming from the WEC as champ can fight Liddell,i mean there are other better marketable fights w less negative impact than Silva liddell,after all it is a buisness_ but to each his own U have ur opinnion & i have mine.

Why is Chuck’s chin suspect again Sam? I guess that I do not understand that accusation. If it is because Rashad layed him out then give me a break. That is what happens when all you do every single fight you are in is stand up and throw hands. Now just because Rampage and Rashad have caught him you are questioning his chin? Jesus. This is coming from someone that doesn’t even like Liddell, at all in fact but he doesn’t deserve that specific criticism. Another person I could really care less about is Patrick Cote, but he did hang in there and I don’t know if he was being toyed with or if Silva just couldn’t figure how to put him away but that fight had a very unresolved ending. I for one would like to see the sequal just to have some closure. I don’t think I stand alone on this.

Thankfully the rest of us have have watched MMA pre-2007 and understand what Chuck is capable of. Certainly he is not over the hill physically, he just needs to get his game straight and round out his skillset, something Randy was still doing at his age- and let’s not forget this guy beat Randy twice. For that matter, After his second loss to Liddell, Randy was able to bring his game back on track and pull himself back into top ten rankings. Chuck also beat Wanderlei Silva, is he washed up too? You don’t know what you’re talking about.

I mean, I’d watch it…but it would certainly put a sour taste in my mouth.

Since there is no way Chuck could make MW, the fight would be at LHW and thus not for any belt in the first place. This fight wouldn’t put a sour taste in my mouth, and it wouldn’t prove the UFC as all about money- it would be a contest between two great fighters and it would demonstrate that the UFC cares about putting on memorable bouts.

I really don’t think Dana would let a Chuck vs. Anderson Silva fight happen too much of a chance for Chuck to get embarrassed again.
