MMA Junkie is reporting that a bout between welterweights Chris Lytle and Marcus Davis will take place at UFC 93. According to sources close to both fighters, bout agreements have been given to both camps. UFC 93 is set to take place on January 17 in Dublin, Ireland at the O2 Arena.
Davis is coming off a submission victory over Paul Kelly at UFC 89 just two weeks ago in Birmingham, England and has won four out of his last five fights. This upcoming fight with Chris Lytle will mark the sixth time in a row that Davis has fought overseas, not having fought on U.S. Soil since 2007 at UFC 69 in Houston, Texas.
Lytle most recently recorded a unanimous decision victory over Paul Taylor at UFC 89 in what turned out to be a slugfest and the fight of the night. Lytle has won four of his past six fights in the UFC and inked a contract extension with the company in July.
UFC 93 is set to feature a main event attraction at light heavyweight between Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson as well as the return of Maurico Rua to the cage against former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman at light heavyweight.
