After watching the replay of the fight, I counted seven times that Brown hit Faber in the back of the head with absolutely no warning from the referee. In addition the majority of hits Brown was throwing while Faber was on the ground did not connect with his face or head, but with Urijah's hand that he was using to intelligently defend himself. So, what am I saying. The ref should have given Brown a warning on the back of the head punches, and Faber, who is the best p4p featherweight in the world should have been given more time to improve his position. He had no idea where Brown was when he threw that elbow, and he is a better fighter than that. As well, Brown seemed to be keeping him close and did a good job of being a smart fighter. This is the price you pay when you mix being an entertainer and a serious athlete at the same time. As for the shortcut on the fights, I wonder if it had anything to do with a conflict of advertising dollars between WEC and Ultimate fighter (which started at 9pm, central), WEC is the sister company of UFC. Maybe WEC isn't getting the viewership they had in the past? Anybody know more about this, or am I speaking out of my keester? They all ignore the fact that Sonnen is a Liar and Paulo was 16 and O before the fight and has spent the past year fighting his own demons, but most people don't know what that's like because all they know is going to work, shopping, stuffing their faces with fast food and then going to bed.
