Denis Kang to debut vs. Alan Belcher at UFC 93 (UPDATED)
MMA On Tap reported Monday that the newest UFC middleweight, Denis Kang, could face off against Alan Belcher at UFC 93 in January. Sherdog has since confirmed that Kang will indeed debut against Belcher on Jan. 17 in Dublin, Ireland.
Kang is most recently coming off a win against Marvin Eastman via first round TKO at Raw Combat: Redemption just a couple weeks back. Kang sports a record of 31-10 professionally but has gone 3-2 in his last five fights.
Alan Belcher fought last at UFC Fight Night 15, recording a controversial split decision victory over Team Quest fighter Ed Herman. Belcher sports a 4-3 record in the UFC since joining the organization in 2006. He carries a record of 13-5 professionally coming into the fight with Kang.
UFC 93 will be the promotion’s first foray into Irish territory. The card’s main event features a light heavyweight matchup between Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson as well as former UFC heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer, Mark Coleman, facing off in a rematch against Mauricio Rua.

I love this fight because I love both fighters. Both are Hardcore and will go till the last bell. I would like Belcher to have another fight before taking on Kang because I think that Kang would have the upper hand on this one.

It will be interesting to see how this fight plays out should Kang agree to take it. Both of their styles will make for an exciting fight to watch. I will take Denis Kang via second round KO. Belcher does have some pretty good Muay Thai but Kang is way better in the striking department so I’ll give him the advantage.

I am excited to see this fight. Should be a very good matchup standing. Nice first fight for Kang, and a very tough test for Belcher. Let’s see if this big a fight can motivate him to step it up a level.

this should be a great fight. Alan the Talent Belcher is a step up from Marvin Beastman Eastman.not trying to disrespect Eastman but the Talent is a better striker than him.I hope that Kang is succesfuf in his UFC debut.

UFC 72 was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland. UFC 93 is the first event ever in the Republic of Ireland in Dublin. There is a difference.

Nice to see Kang finally get to the show… i mean he’s put in so much work… although i guess the trials up untill now made him better than he could have been without them… fighters who are capable of adjusting their game after tough to swallow losses(i mean sometimes you just get caught nomatter whos the better fighter) always end up far the better for it… it hurts to see the recorded losses but they are necessary… now, i think he’ll roll thru alot of people in that division… silva tho, i dunno…
