First off all I like the ufc, but I’m sick of watching the same fights. Dana white is ab idiot for not having a co promotion with affliction and m-1. It would make one of the biggest mma shows if not the biggest. Dana white does not care about the sport of mma but the bank roll of the ufc.

You are absolutely right joey. The ufc IS a huge smoke screen all together and Fedor didnt sign with them because of this and how the fighters were treated / payed. But i knew Dana was simply fulla shit the day he even became so desperate to down play Fedor. Heres a word of the wise to all you dense people that are led astray by ufc propaganda. Dana White who is the man that puls the strings at UFC and his former right hand man Randy Couture were both people “SUPPOSEDLY” wanting a fight with Fedor !?! Then there is absolutely no reason or obstacles in the way other then the ones dana and couture created and they created them because they didnt want to fight Fedor because they knew what the outcome was going to be and knew that if they just ployed it all they could get advertisment/ publicity out of it but actually coming out and fighting would end all that B.S. with a very hard hitting truth (no pun intended). Its like the cocky person behind the pc keyboard vs the real man on the streeet asking you out, you know damn well hes not leaving his keyboard but insted he can safely set at it and type / advertise all the smack he wants and come up with bogus reasons why he cant fight. END OF STORY !!! and one last note, Couture was 16-8 prior to losing to lesnar, wtf kind of champion record is that ?? Cotoure doesnt even make the worlds top 5, lil chicken shit ducked Nog to !!! But of course he would since randy was tapped by someone nog easily submitted as well as his teammate Henderson whos much more dangerous then couture.

Yeah, he’s fighting in a bush league and only cares about the money not fighting top contenders. Well he’s already beat the nonbush league champion/interim champion/whatever you’ll call him now TWICE. Also, if you forget Randy, he beat the champion they had before him in 36 seconds, and the champion before that is his next fight. Yeah, he should get out of the bush league and prove himself willing to fight anybody because Sylvia, Arlovski, Barnett, etc. are way less established than Valasquez and Carwin. Give me a break, if Fedor was in any other weight class than HW I’d agree with these statements but he’s not.

As far as what the UFC is doing, I understand it and I’d do the same thing if I was them but that does not excuse the people posting about the UFC to buy into their bullshit or marketing ploys.

Lesner would get beat down. He couldnt even handle a 220 lb 45 year old that hasnt fought in over a year. Lets be real, he only caught Randy. Before that he was unsuccesful at striking and takeing Randy down. Lesners a joke. All he has is size and thats it. I hope he fights Nogeria.

Yah, agreed the fighters deserve certain benefits at the expense of the promotion since they’re the ones risking life and limb every day to make the promoters rich.

… but I don’t agree with your position on the NFL as a model – the difference between the NFL union-based contract and most other leagues is the lack of **guaranteed** contracts. This is a huge factor. The money may seem high, but it’s not a guaranteed longterm paycheque like, say MLB or whatever. If you end up really sucking or, even more likely, if you get badly injured and can’t play for an extended period you can be released and say goodbye to your money. WHile it’s not ideal for the fighters themselves long-term, that’s not such a bad structure for promotional organisations involved in a combat sport like MMA where fighters’ career length is never a certain thing.

Why woud’nt Dana want this fight to happen ? He says Fedor is overated and the pay per view would break record sales ! Maybe it’s because Fedor is one of the first fighters that payed attention to how big of a douche bag Dana really is and did not need the UFC to help his career . Dana does not want the fight to happen because he knows Fedor will win and then he would have to offer him huge money to fight in the UFC and also prove that he is either blind or just full of shit !

I agree with a fighters union but am unsure how it would work with so many orginazations. The NBA pay structure I feel is the best any league has to offer because you dont negotiate, it is what it is. THe NFL is bullshit because you get guys like Jake Long securing a $60 million dollar deal before he even takes a snap. At least in the NBA it is a tiered structure off of time in the league. I mean could a jump start orginization like AFL, IFL , Affliction really honor union forced contracts? It will someday happen, just like the Diktas, Jim Brown and old time football players paid their dues and another generation is reaping the benifits- the current fighters are going to do the same.
