hey Rich who hasn’t got their ass handed by gsp? Penn’s next but any way Fitch destroyed all his other competition soundly? No other figher cept penn have given gsp trouble(except for serra’s miracle). The UFC is making a big mistake letting go of John Fitch and not doing business with AKA. It’s bad enough that they let werdum go.They’re going to lose many other quality fighters down the road due to their dictatorship antics.

You two must be sort of half-assed fans because Fitch is a top 5 welterweight pretty much everywhere, and probably top 3 in the UFC with only Alvez ranking higher because he simply hasn’t had the opportunity to let GSP whoop him yet.

IF being top5 in the world and top 3 in your org doesn’t make you special… well, it does, you just don’t know much about MMA.

I am one of the guys who almost always gives Zuffa the benefit of the doubt, because they have been so successful over the years, but this is stupid, Fitch is at worst one of the top 3-4 WW’s in the world, I just can’t believe this.

And to go further, if he is not valued, why is he even in the game?
Of course he is valued. There are other questions that need to be answered.

Heat – Knock out someone’s teeth? Intelligent discussion and the forming of factual based opinions is what the majority of fans here would like to see/do. Save your antics for intimidating grade schoolers. You’ve impressed noone. Except yourself it would appear.

Having exclusive rights to use Fitch’s name in a goddamn video game has nothing to do with his fight contract. What a disgrace. I hope they cut some more high caliber guys and they end up at affliction. That card in January is looking pretty good to me. Maybe I’ll give them my money in January instead of the UFC. Really bad move on the UFC’s part. They could have offered a better deal instead of making an example out of these guys and scareing everyone else into signing. I thought they were all about having the greatest fighters in the world, not having lifetime exclusive rights to someones name?

Not even bottom level fighters should sign likeness rights to the UFC. Who knows how their careers will unfold. And to imply Fitch doesn’t matter, Ian said it best. You are contributing to the problem. If you don’t see how, explanations aren’t deserved. Go boo another three round fight.

My guess is the matter wasn’t even raised with Lesnar. That should be an indication of the type of management you are dealing with when it comes to the UFC. If all indications are correct, this is a sad time for the MMA fans.

But if you don’t care, good luck to you.

Fitch was good but maybe if he was more exciting and didn’t always go to decision they wouldnt have dont such a thnig,i dont really understand the deal with thq but sumtimes it better to bite the bullet especially when the ufc sez sign this or ur out,its a no brainer swallow ur pride,u take the good with the bad

Wow. Jon Fitch is the number 2 or at the least number 3 WW in the world. He matters. It would be wise for the UFC to at least try to work things out to keep such a talented fighter. Not that the other fighters deserve this sort of treatment either. And just when you were starting to think that Dana wasn’t so bad….

I am curious what Brock Lesner has agreed to. With his experience with other large organizations and superstardom he must have experience with agreements. I wonder what licencing agreements WWE has in place and how they compare to UFC. I have a hard time seeing Lesner signing anything that would be drastically worse than the WWE. I raise this because of the Dana’s comment about Cain Velesquez trying to change agreements with only two fights. I don’t see the UFC trying to bully an already established millionaire like Lesner and still expecting a working relationship. They want him more than Velesquez because he brings in more viewers and Lesner would know this and thus be in a stronger negotiating position than most fighters. Thoughts…

bottom line, he was given the opportunity to sign or be cut, he chose not to sign, its a dog eat dog world, at thats the reality big corporations usually win. so no point crying and complaining over it, il admit hes a gifted fighter but perhaps nit gifted enough to sign the dotted line, no pun intended,
