Silva knows that he can retire, if he wants, can call the fight he wants, but word is he needs to make some more money to retire WELL. The dilemma for the UFC is to get a fighter that would be a legit challenge and that Silva will be willing to fight. That will definitely come to pass the 205 class. Silva is a great fighter but he is not the "end all be all of MMA. " His moving up to 205( Griffin, Evans, Machita,Jackson, Liddell ,when he keeps his hands up,and the one I'd really like to see... Anderson Silva vs. Wanderlei Silva) will definitively prove that. He'll make his money but then maybe have to retire. Peace and Merry Christmas everyone.

Silva should not fight Leites yet..they have not pumped up the fight to a title shot yet..Leites barely won again Marquart in a controversial fight..due to point deductions..Marquart was dismantled in the first round..What UFC needs to do to sell this fight is to market the following 3 MW for the title shot..Bisping, Maia and Leites..my suggestion..Bisping vs Leites first..whoever wins then should face Maia for the No 1 contender..In fact, Maia deserves more of a title shot than Leites..being unbeaten in the Octagon and with a perfect no-loss record..Joe Silva needs to make this a marketed fight to bring some excitement to the champion..he's been bored lately due to no-exciting challenges..He either needs a 205 title shot..or market and build-up his MW challengers more..since he's literally wiped-out that division..

I think they are setting up Anderson to fight the winner of the Light Heavy Match.
I see him beating Forrest or Rashad pretty easy.
Just my guess.

I agree with William W.

Okami should walk out of his fight with Lister relatively unscathed as the fight will likely end up on the ground and Lister will be content to hold Okami in his guard for 15 minutes.

Have Silva fight the last remaining contender at 185 and then, should he win, announce he's either fighting GSP or moving up to 205.

Four man tournament a la what's going on at HW right now with Leities and Marquardt meeting up and the winner moving on to face the winner of Bisping/Maia.

April would be good because he could finally defend the title against Okami (provided he wins in December). On the other hand, Anderson didn't sustain any damage in October so I'm not sure why they want to wait 7 months between bouts.

Six month's is a long wait to be fighting again. Both the MW and LHW divison's will be very busy over the next few month's. There is a lot to sort out so Anderson coming back in April does sound about right to me. I wish it was more like February or March but...what it is.

I believe if Silva fought Lietes, Thales would get KTFO inside of two round's. This might be why we're waiting for the word on the Spider's next opponent? Zuffa could possibly feel the same, however, I would book that bout if I were them. Whatever they do, I hope they do the right thing.
