I’ve never personally seen Grove fight, but I am glad to hear that the UFC is trying to strengthen an already depleted Heavyweight division.

Couture, Lesnar, Big Nog, “Mur”, Gonzaga, Carwin, and others need some competition or at least another person to fight!

so know we know who Randy Couture will be fighting next. I guess they needed to bring in a tomato can so that Randy can end his career with a win over a “big guy with a good record” this is a sad sight to see.

When I first saw this I thought it was a mistake. The UFC can stop the bullshit that they only have the best fighters in the world. They sign guys like this all the time who are cheap and appeal to a certain market. Then let guys like Sokoudjou,Tito Ortiz, Babalu, go elsewhere and nearly Jon Fitch because they didn’t fall in line the way they wanted or made more money than they like to pay. Unless you’re a Dana White favorite like Chuck Liddell, Matt Huhges and now Brock Lesnar then you’re taking care of.

He wouldn’t be in the UFC if he didn’t appeal to a certain market. But I’m not against Fresh blood for the HW division.

Neil Grove? Are you kidding me? I’ve seen nearly all of this guy’s Cage Rage bouts. For lack of a better phrase, Grove is terrible. Absolutely atrocious boxing. Think Jason Lambert meets Doug “the Rhino” Marshall striking. He has no ground game whatsoever, and the TKO vs. “Buzz” Berry was far from Grove beating the piss out of Berry.

Berry actually gave up due to some horrendous head cold he had coming into the fight. He couldn’t breathe at all and ended up gassing hard by the end of the first round and just said screw it and stopped the fight.

Interestingly enough, Berry dropped Grove like a sack of potatoes during the bout and it was about a second away from being stopped. Grove was saved by the end of the round before Berry could obliterate him.

Obviously, the UFC’s scouting abilities are faulty. Grove is going to be crushed. Sanchez, Hardonk, even McCully could probably have their way with this guy.

Unless Grove makes some drastic improvements especially in cardio he is going to get beaten stupid. At the moment he is like a taller version of Tank.

I’ve seen pictures of this guy in FO and he looks like a freakin’ monster. I’ve only seen the result’s of his matches so I haven’t seen how he moves around the cage but he is a big dude. I’m interested to see how he does in the Octagon. Would they pit him against Gonzaga or Luiz Cane yet?
