In the current state of MMA you need to be well rounded in every aspect of the game, to be a one trick pony puts a big target on your back, If Chuck is only going to come out and throw a one dimensional attack anyone with a good trainor will help build a gameplan that helps to neutralize the strengths, (the standeup) and work to attack the body with leg kicks and head movemment. I think Greg Jackson has Liddels number.

Lets also remember that Chuck does not have the speed he use to have this is a sign of his age, Rashad beat him to the punch and into the third row, the once dominate Chuck may be a thing of the past, he needs to work on keeping his opponoents guessing and then land the big blows. Chuck is good at angles he needs to use his wrestling to set up his punches.

Right now let it be said. Chuck liddel will lose again to Jardine. He will never get another title shot at any class. He needs to retire. For the guy that said he should fight Randy because that would line the winner up for a title shot, are you smoking crack? Randy is in the same sinking boat as the iceman. they need to both just leave before the become jokes in mma. Then someone brought up chuck fighting anderson, the intros to the ring would be 5 times longer the the spider would need to ko liddel. There time has come and gone and i have all the respect in the world for what they have done but its over the torch has been passed and the LH an HW divisions will be fine without them.

Disrespect?
It is not that, not that at all. In fact Liddell, has gotten too much respect. From fans and fighters alone.
Athletes all have down side to careers…..it is called age.
What warrants to usual Chuck “nut-huggers” to respect what he has done in the last 2 years?
This is not disrespect, this is just response to a fallen legend.

I’m sorry but this fight is retarded. It doesn’t set up either guy for anything. Even Chuck-Couture at heavyweight would make more sense, given the winner would get a title shot.

This is an OK fight for Chuck, I don’t want to see him get demolished by Anderson Silva yet… he needs a chance for a win and to somewhat redeem himself, he’s an icon, and needs to be put in with someone he has a 50/50 chance of beating who is recognized as a tough competitor, Jardine fits the bill perfectly.

Chuck can win over Jardine. You talk about Chuck not being in the title race anymore? Jardine has never been a top prospect. Whenever Jardine get his name into the picture he goes out and gets demolished in the first round ex. Alexander and Silva. Don’t give up on Chuck give up on Jardine.

You can see and hear the cracks in the Ole Ice. He does not want any part of Anderson Silva. No longer does he believe that he can compete on that level. You really can’t blame him he doesn’t want to be anybody highlight reel. Chuck’s relevance effectively ended when Rampage smash through him.

I was hoping Chuck’s next fight would be against Anderson Silva. Too bad they couldn’t get it done in time for February, that would’ve been a great fight. I will still watch any Chuck Liddell fight they book anyways. The guy is still one of the best fighter’s MMA has ever had. If he were to use all of his weapon’s like he should’ve been doing. Chuck can beat anyone he wants to. It isn’t going to be easy for him but, why not try? HW is another option as well.

I don’t want to see Liddell against Jardine again. I would like to see him against a new opponent. He is at the tail end of his career, who knows how many fights he has left, so why waste one of his remaining fights on trying to avenge a loss? If it does happen, I’ll take Jardine once again.

I’m intrigued as to why Chuck is avoiding Silva. If he does beat Jardine, it will certainly give him some personal satisfaction, but in terms of getting back up there for a title shot, does nothing. Chuck is at a cross roads, I dont believe there are many fights left in him. He needs a big match up with a win to prove he is still a force, which is why a Silva bout is exactly what he needs. Beating Jardine is only taking a lengthy road to the title, something he cant afford.

Chuck may win another fight or two in his career; but there will be no big comeback. He’s old. He’s got chronic injuries. He’s not going to learn those new tricks the way some of his fans are hoping he will. He will always carry his hands low. He will never use his kicks or knees as much as he should. He will always prefer to strike rather than to use offensive wrestling. Every fighter in his division knows exactly how to fight Liddell in order to win.

It’s time to stop talking about dinosaurs like Chuck and focus on guys like Forrest and Rashad, who are the future of the division. Chuck is not going to factor into the title picture anymore.

awesome this is a good fight for chuck. i see chuck winning 2 rd tko. by brutal ground and pound. i think chuck is gonna start using his wrastling. and if hackleman is telling the truth he says chuck has very good gnp. either way i think chuck takes this. i haven’t lost faith in him.

Possibly means utilising his wrestling skills a bit more? I.e. 3rd round against Wand? I’d pick Liddell in a rematch against Jardine to be honest. Have a feeling he may have taken him lightly the first time round.
