Canceled WEC 38 match between Rob McCullough vs. Marcus Hicks could take place at WEC 39
A planned lightweight encounter between former WEC lightweight champion “Razor” Rob McCullough and former WEC lightweight title challenger Marcus Hicks that had been planned for WEC 38 on January 25 now appears likely take place at a later date.
FiveOuncesOfPain.com was the first to report earlier this month that the reported WEC 38 bout between the two had been postponed due to wear and tear sustained by McCullough during a heated fight against Donald Cerrone at WEC 36 in November.
However, McCullough revealed during a Tuesday conference call to promote the upcoming airing of his bout against Cerrone on VERSUS that the fight vs. Hicks appears to be a go for WEC 39 in March.
McCullough’s unanimous decision loss to Cerrone at WEC 36 reportedly was a “Match of the Year” candidate and the fight will be shown in its entirety for the first time during VERSUS’ Dec. 28 premiere of “WEC Best of 2008.”
According to MMAjunkie.com, the unnanounced March event could take place in Florida and be headlined by WEC featherweight champion Mike Thomas Brown defending his title vs. Leonard Garcia.

I am just happy Versus is showing the McCullough/Cerrone fight. I have heard so much hype about the battle these two guys went through it will be good to see if the match lives up to it.

WEC’s Best of 08 is so stacked. all of the fights are constant non-stop action.

They should have aired that fight on the original event.
Their last 2 events were garbage in terms of timing. Make the event three hours (because what else is Versus going to show), lose the fight entrances (for the WEC they are anti-climatic because the walk to the cage is so short).
Specifically run a Wreckage where all the worthy pre-lims from the previous event are shown and let us know when they are during the original events broadcast.
The WEC events used to be so damn good!
