Great matchup, like both fighters, its gonna be a real test for both guys, but I gotta take Maia by decision. Sonnen might have a chance if he doesn’t make a bone-head move like Sonnen/Filho I.

Sonnen gets thrown in with Maia in his first fight back in the UFC? Wow. Wonder if there’s still some lingering Dana White hostility toward Lindland that’s in play here.

Its because its in England. They always have weaker cards overseas. See UFC 93 (not the best example), UFC 89, UFC 85, ect…

I think the last one they charged for in spite of the crappy US timeslot. I know for sure UFC 85 was a ppv event (in the US).

I don’t care who else is on the card because Nate Marquardt is going to destroy Gouveia.

Rumor has been that it will be on Spike TV. UFC website even said as much, but apparently they are still negotiating that with Spike, so nothing is official. Let’s hope though.

Just thinking the same thing steveextreme ….. with that weak headliner, no title fights, and a 3pm live start time, I don’t see any possible way the UFC can package this as a PPV card. Looks like we get a mediocre freebee.

Another great match up made by Mr. Joe Silva. Anderson Silva looks like he could be a very busy man in 2009. Isn’t that great? I’m going to say Maia defeats Sonnen via submission .

This is a tough matchup for Maia. If he gets past Sonnen, he’ll be in line for a title shot.

glad to hear …. Sonnen is a great fighter and a class act I hope someday he gets the title shot he deserves after being shafted by Filho for not making weight . congrats Chael now go and kick some ass!

Awesome, I didn’t even think of this possibility for Maia.

I was sure he’d be put up against Wilson G, completely forgot about Sonnen.

Hopefully this turns out to be more of a war than Sonnen v. Fatty McPsychotic
