John wrote "unfortunately athletes and celebs are and should be held to a higher standard than the average person, if you take a position of employment that puts you in the public eye its clear to me you should act as a role model and refrain from doing anything that could get you negative publicity."

I have to disagree. The standard should be the standard across the board, whether you bag groceries or you make millions throwing a football or making the newest pacemaker for baby pygmy goats. If you change the standard due to one's station in life, that is where the issues start popping up. You bag groceries now and then you happen to get a contract with the UFC or some other MMA org, should the punishment you get be any different from the week prior? I don't think so.

Well one way to know that MMA is beginning to go mainstream is the fact that SI.com has the headline on their front page: "MMA fighter arrested following high-speed chase."

Why do idiots like this guy risk a golden opportunity to move up in their MMA careers in a big organization like the UFC? Alcohol and stupidy - a lethal combination....He should be taken off the card and have his spot given to a person that is smarter and more hungry to succeed.

He will probable plead delirium.

I also think that he should be banned from fighting for a least a year. If a guy tests positive for Marijuana he gets suspended but if you DRINK AND DRIVE (twice) you should also be suspended.

<//--- The details provided by NHTSHA during 2004, are an eye opener to the large-scale risks of drunk driving. An average of one alcohol-related crash occurred every 31 minutes in 2004. Twenty-one percent of the children killed in fatal drunk driving crashes were 14 or below. An estimated 248,000 people were injured in alcohol-related crashes -- one person injured approximately every 2 minutes. The rate of alcohol-related crashes is 3 times higher at night than during the day. The percentage of drivers involved in alcohol-related crashes was higher for males, and the drivers were between 21 and 24 years of age. BAC levels of .08 or higher were found in 27% of motorcyclists, 21% of light truck drivers and 22% of drivers of passenger cars. The percentage of drivers with the highest BAC levels was lowest for large trucks. The BAC level among most recorded was .18.

Was they anyword that Rampage was called during the chase? For tips on eluding police perhaps? I have been in Des Moines last couple days. Crazy stuff hitting an actual police car. Whoever sells vehicles to UFC fighters should be investigated also. Possibly using sell tactics "you will outrun police if you get this car!".
