I also dont think the cardio will be as much of an issue, he has lost a lot of muscle and weight in his cut down. I see this working to his advantage, because we all know the bigger the muscles you have the more oxygen (and energy) it takes to power them. So in his case he cut down size which should help his gas tank and chances of success.
