Chris Horodecki pulled from Saturday’s “Day of Reckoning” card (UPDATED)

Multiple sources speaking on the condition of anonymity have informed FiveOuncesOfPain.com that Chris Horodecki has failed his licensing examination with the California State Athletic Commission and has been removed from the card for Affliction’s Day of Reckoning” event on Saturday.

A source to the fight indicated that Horodecki is off the card after failing a neurological examination. His trainer, Shawn Tompkins, contacted Five Ounces of Pain and stated that Horodecki originally underwent a series of medical exams in Las Vegas but that several items on his medical papers needed to be completed.

An appointment in the Los Angeles area was made in order to complete Horodecki’s forms and Tompkins said the exam went well until Horodecki was administered a pressure test. A doctor determined that Horodecki possessed less than 15% strength in his right arm and that he is likely to be suffering from a bulging disk in his neck. As such, Horodecki could not be licensed for Saturday’s fight vs. Dan Lauzon and he will recuperate up until it is determined that he is medically cleared to resume fighting.

An immediate replacement to face Lauzon has not been named.

All I wonder is why didn’t Affliction have this figured out far in advance?
5 Days out you find out?? I mean really??

When all this stuff goes down it just really shows how much of a well oiled machine the UFC really is. They have had major fights been sacrificed to injuries and Armenian panic attacks but always seem to find suitable replacements in due time..

With Dream (dating back to Hong Man Choi), EXC, and Affliction (Aleks) all seeming to run into bad luck/bad fighter management it just leaves you scratching your head.. I mean thank god Yvel atleast got cleared or this card was heading for an even more impending doom..

Affliction need to get their shizz together if they even make it to another card.

this isnt afflictions fault the fighter failed the test when they were given, they will make a good match, maybe dan vs terry martin i would bet on louzon by ko. Still i was really looking forward to this fight but its still the best overall card in years.

Its to bad that this fight wont happen i hope hordecki recovers fast, but even without this fight this card is stacked. Much better card then anything comming out of ufc in a long time. ill be watching this card for sure and i expect affliction to be here for a long time if they keep putting out cards like this.

The loss of 85% of the strength is significant neurological impairment. He probably has other symptoms including pain and numbness and tingling in his arm and hand. The bulging disc is pressing on a nerve root in his cervical spine, and relieving it may require surgery. That’s bad news, especially for somebody so young.

Affliction is doing OK. Elite XC is holding up all the extra fighters that is why it will be hard to get a replacement. I like the fact that we get to see the undercard.

I was disappointed by the news, but now hearing more about this I’m glad the caught it when they did. Something like that could cause a truly serious injury in the ring.

Big dave must be drunk. Why is this such a better card than ufc puts out. It is all guys that washed out of the ufc. Horrible statement. Ufc still has the cream of the crop when it comes to fighters. Think before you speak atleast.
