Dana White says St. Pierre vs. Alves set for UFC 100

Dana White was recently on a Montreal radio show to talk about the controversy surrounding UFC 97 and the Quebec Athletic Commission while also giving a small glimpse into the future as well.

With the historic UFC 100 looming around the corner White announced plans to have Georges St. Pierre headline the card which is scheduled for July 11 and will take place in Las Vegas.

St. Pierre is scheduled to defend his welterweight title against number one contender Thiago Alves.

White went on to say that UFC 100 would be taking place in Las Vegas as opposed to Denver where they had their very first event back in 1993.

Speculation has been rampant that the UFC would turn this event into a “Night of Champions” but White has nixed any ideas of having every belt or even a few of them defended that night.

While White did not address it during the interview, reports have suggested that in addition to St. Pierre vs. Alves, Rashad Evans will make his first title defense at UFC 100 against either Quinton Jackson or Lyoto Machida and that TUF 9 coaches Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson will do battle as well.
