I’m not making accusations but there are many other uses for steroids than bulking up or building strength. A big one for a fighter would be to heal injuries faster when a fight is on the horizon.

Just to play devils advocate here – does this then cast a shadow over Fedor? The two guys train together for 8-10 hours a day, does this confirm there are drugs in the camp?

Just so my own position is clear here, I don’t think Fedor uses performance enhancing drugs, unless you count vodka. I personally don’t see how steroids are going to help a fighter anyways. To quote Karl Gotch from Eugene S. Robinson’s Fight book :

“You need five things to be a great fighter : technique, agility, speed, endurance and reflexes. Strength means nothing.” And that’s exactly what I see when I watch Fedor.

Man this guy was doomed from the start with “Baby Fedor” as a nickname. Awful big shoes to fill considering Fedor is the best fighter of our time, maybe all time. He looked like an out of shape 205er. Maybe he should consider making the cut to 205. He’s a small heavyweight as it is.

It’s a stretch to call this guy a prodigy when he was destroyed by Buentello, who’s a journeyman. As I watched Buentello hammer this guy into submission, I couldn’t help but wonder if maybe he was on the card because Fedor’s management demanded it rather than because Affliction wanted it. Does anybody know whether Sidelnikov has the same management as Fedor?
