The grudge between Hughes and Serra is pretty stale at this point. In order to hype this fight and generate interest, they’ll have to start talking trash about each other again, or UFC will have to replay some of the video where they trashed each other. This could wind up like an after school fight based on an argument in home roon. By the time it’s time to fight, neither side may care any more. I swear I’ll vomit if they embrace or act friendly after it’s over.

Mir/Lesnar is already the announced headline/main event of the evening. Hughes/Serra is listed next, so I guess co-main. What is funny is that the UFC’s press release for this fight says Hughes/Serra will be in the undercard. Still uncorrected as of today.

I doubt this is a headlining match, maybe co-headlining, on a PPV. That being said alot of us have been witing to see this. I don’t know how much Hughes has left, and Serra did not look good against GSP. This could be their final fights (atleast in the UFC), which is really interesting because you have perhaps one of the most colorful fighters in Matt Serra, a brash New Yorker v.s Matt Hughes “the Greatest Welterweight” of all time the epitome of conceited Mid-Western farm boys. It should be called “Attitudes Collide” because of this.
