The California State Athletic Commission has released information to FiveOuncesOfPain.com stating that mixed martial arts icon Ken Shamrock is currently facing suspension in light of testing positive for three performance enhancing drugs: 19-Norandrosterone, 19-Noretiocholanolone, and Stanozolol.
If upheld, the suspension will run until February 2010. He has also been fined $2,500. Mr. Shamrock also reserves the right to appeal the CSAC’s findings if he chooses to do so.
Shamrock last competed for the WarGods promotion on February 13th in Fresno, CA where he defeated Ross Clifton via submission in the first round.
Shamrock is also currently scheduled to co-headline a pay-per-view on March 21 in a bout against former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley. The hybrid boxing/MMA event, titled “March Badness,” will be promoted by Roy Jones Jr.’s Square Ring Promotions and is also scheduled to feautre Jones competing in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida in what is believed to be his final fight. However, the status of the Shamrock vs. Lashley match is now in question in light of Shamrock’s resent drug test failure.
