Lyle Beerbohm a possible opponent for Gilbert Melendez on April 11 Strikeforce

Undefeated lightweight, Lyle Beerbohm, has confirmed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com that he is currently in talks to fill in for the injured Josh Thomson to take on former Strikeforce lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez, on the April 11th Strikeforce card.

Thomson was recently forced to withdrawal from his bout with Melendez due to a broken leg suffered in a training session leading up to the highly anticipated rematch.

Although nothing has been signed at this point, Beerbohm has been notified to diet and be ready if needed.

Beerbohm, who has amassed an unblemished record of 9-0 with eight finishes to his credit, is excited about the possible opportunity to showcase his skills against a fighter the caliber of Melendez.

The April 11th Strikeforce card is set to be headlined by a catch weight bout between Frank Shamrock and Nick Diaz.
