Chokeouts and Beatdowns Aplenty at Bellator Fighting Championship Week 5

If you happen to be one of the unfortunate combatants that came up on the losing end of last night’s Bellator FC card, you more than likely caught a nasty beatdown or got yourself choked out. Eight of the evening’s total nine bouts were finished by either triangle choke, guillotine, rear-naked choke, or strikes.

Bellator held it’s lightweight semifinals last evening in separate match-ups where Dream veteran Eddie Alvarez dominated Eric Reynolds for three rounds with strikes, takedowns and punishing ground and pound before applying the fight ending rear-naked choke at 1:30 of round 3.

In the night’s second semi-final match-up Jorge Masvidal seemed to be on the path to a decision victory before being submitted by a nasty inverted triangle choke at the hands, or should I say legs of Toby Imada at 3:22 of round 3.

Dave “Pee Wee” Herman withstood an early onslaught from Josh Barnes early in the opening round before dropping his opponent to the canvas with a brutal knee to the head late in the first round.
