The war of words between Dana White and Affliction VP Tom Atencio continues to heat up. Earlier this month Atencio expressed his desire to compete against the outspoken UFC President in a Mixed Martial Arts match under the premise White talked tough but may not be able to back it up. Never one to back down from expressing his opinion, many followers of MMA felt it wouldn’t take long for White to respond to Atencio’s challenge. They were right.
According to Yahoo Sports, the UFC’s head had this to say when asked about the possibility of fighting Atencio:
“If I were him, I’d want to fight me, too. I’m the guy who is killing all of his hopes and dreams. At the end of the day, I stepped up and said I would fight Tito and he was a fighter who people cared about. But why would I fight this goof? He’s neither a fighter nor a promoter. He’s a f*cking loser. That’s all he is.
Let me tell you something: When I was $44 million in the hole, the last thing I was doing was leaving the office and going out to train for a joke of a fight. I was in the office and trying to find a way to make this thing work. Why would I waste one second of my second of my day worrying about this f*cking guy? He should be worried about the millions and millions of his bosses, or his partners’ money, whoever it is, that’s he’s burning. That’s a complete joke.”
Atencio is 1-0 in MMA and in the midst of preparing for a bout against Randy Hedderick at the Fight Force event in Biloxi, Mississippi on June 27th. The card is headlined by a clash between heavyweights Bob Sapp and Bobby Lashley
