Beatdowns, Brawls and Chokeouts Highlight Bellator FC Week 7

Omar De La Cruz and Lyman Good cemented themselves as the welterweight finalists for Bellator’s eight man, 170 pound tournament.

The seventh week of the Bellator Fighting Champioships took place at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois and airs tonight on ESPN Deportes via one day tape delay.

De La Cruz survived some early scares at the hands of UFC veteran Dave Menne only to battle back and score the first round TKO while Good dominated the bulk of his bout before clinching Jorge Ortiz up and finishing him off with a pulverizing knee uppercut combo that left blood raining from his head for the second round TKO.

It took just 10 short seconds for UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez to batter Jay White for the TKO victory, Kerry Vera bested Leslie Smith by unanimous decision in a brutal back and forth affair and Minnesota Mixed Martial Arts Academy welterweight stand out Jacob Volkmann caught Kevin Knabjian in a nasty triangle choke in the second round to push his undefeated record to 9-0.
