Former Ultimate Fighter cast member Noah Thomas (13-4) has signed with the WEC and will replace injured Eddie Wineland at next month’s WEC 41 card.
The news came earlier today according to a report by MMAJunkie.com.
Thomas will drop down to 135 pounds to take on Frank Gomez (6-1) in a preliminary card bout. Wineland was forced to drop out of the fight with an elbow injury.
Thomas was a contestant on Season 5 of “The Ultimate Fighter” where he was eliminated from the show by eventual finalist Manny Gamburyan.
Thomas enters WEC 41 riding a seven-fight winning streak, including six straight wins by submission. But he is most remembered for getting kicked off the “TUF” cast and losing a spot on the undercard of the season-ending finale when he and Marlon Sims got in a backyard brawl.
Gomez comes into this fight looking to rebound from his first career loss. After six straight wins to start his MMA career, Gomez made his WEC debut at WEC 38 and suffered a 69-second submission loss to Scott Jorgensen.
