That's quite a jump in rank for Shogun. Not bad for his record in the UFC. It's interesting that this "carryover" of records/rank/reputation is only according to convenience. It was inevitable that Machida was going to get a shot at the belt and that once he did, it would be a troublesome marketing challenge. But Machida has done everything the UFC has asked and has had the most impressive and explosive belt ascension we've seen in a while. Only Lesnar's could be deemed more explosive because he literally came out of nowhere with his astonishing power - but he's still got the loss to Mir which questions Brock's all around game. Machida is totally unblemished and his last two fights have answered the 'boring fighting style' criticisms that were set at him (by people like me). Machida has shut me up and made me take notice. The UFC might not like having their MW and LHW belts tied up by guys who are from Brazil and have limited English skills, but these two aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I see a lot of the big names wanting no part of Machida. I know Forrest won't turn down a fight with Machida, but I know Rashad won't be itching soon, Q obviously would rather drive around the sidewalks of SoCal in his big ass truck. I don't see Shogun beating Machida, but Rua looked much faster and had a much better outing against Chuck than he did against Coleman. I see it being about the same finish as Evans. 2nd Round KO. Jstew . . . read the same thing. That’s quite a jump in rank for Shogun.

He used it when talking about Randleman in Pride, then when he came to the UFC, he used it before his bout with Eastman, and now he's using it with Evans. I used to think Quinton was pretty funny, but now I realize that he more or less has two jokes - black on black crime, and 'your breath stinks'.
