Vitor Belfort vs. Jorge Santiago at Affliction III: Trilogy

Vitor Belfort has an opponent for the third Affliction Card and it’s none other than fellow Brazilian Jorge Santiago.

Sources close to the fight have recently confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com.

Afliction III: Trilogy is set for August 1 in Anaheim, California and will feature a headlining bout between heavyweights Fedor Emelianenko and Josh Barnett.

Widespread speculation before the confirmation of Santiago as his opponent had Belfort taking on Gegard Mousasi at the event before today’s news. Mousasi has since revealed that he would be facing off with Renato “Babalu” Sobral according to a report from M-1 Global.com.

Belfort was last seen at Affliction knocking Matt Lindland unconscious in the first round at Affliction: Day of Reckoning and Santiago is coming off of an impressive first round submission over the highly touted Kazuo Misaki at Sengoku: No Ran.
