Eight additional bouts confirmed for UFC 100

The UFC has confirmed a slew of bouts for UFC 100 including Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago, Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher, Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar, Mac Danzig vs. Jim Miller, Jon Jones vs. Jake O’Brien, Dong Hyun Kim vs. Jonathan Goulet, CB Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor and Matt Grice vs. Shannon Gugerty.

UFC 100 is set for July 11 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air live on Pay-Per-View.

Fitch will be looking to improve upon his recent win over Akihiro Gono as he faces off with Thiago who shook up the welterweight division by stopping Josh Koscheck in the Brazilian’s UFC debut.

Akiyama is set to make his highly anticipated UFC debut when he faces Belcher who is coming off of an impressive guillotine submission over Dennis Kang.

Coleman will be looking to get back in the UFC’s win column after a recent TKO loss at the hands of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in his announced bout with Bonnar who was last seen on a losing end of a decision to Jon Jones at UFC 94.

Danzig desperately needs a victory after consecutive losses in the octagon when he throws down with Miller who is coming back from a loss of his own to Gray Maynard.

Undefeated Jon Jones will be gunning to make it three  straight with the UFC when he takes on O’Brien who recently got back on the winning side of things after two straight losses with a split decision victory over Christian Wellisch at UFC 94.

Hyun Kim is coming back from his no contest ruling in his bout with Karo Parisyan at UFC 94. Originally ruled a decision victory in Parisyan’s favor, the ruling was overturned when it was learned that Parisyan tested positive for multiple painkillers. His opponent Goulet is looking to redeem himself following a “Quick” TKO loss to Mike Swick in December 0f 2008.

Dollaway hopes to keep his winning streak intact with the UFC and make it three in a row when he meets TUF 8 veteran Lawlor who is returning from a win over Kyle Kingsbury at the TUF 8 Finale.

Grice critically needs a win with a 1-2 record in the UFC going into his bout with Gugerty who was submitted by Spencer Fisher in his last bout for the UFC.

Excellent card, as expected. I really do hope Hendo stomps Bisping, but i think it’ll go the distance.

    Awesome card, yes!

Hendo/Bisping will likely be boring, though. I’m a big fan of Hendo but his hands are sloppy. Combine that with Bisping’s relative lack of power and what I expect to see is a repeat of Bisping/Leben where Bisping points his way to a boring decision victory.

Hopefully, Mir, GSP & Jones will be exciting, though!

Does anyone know if UFC 100 will be more expensive than the regular $44.95?

I doubt the price will be higher. They’re already pushing it with that price for HD. I still happily pay for it. I just can’t get enough of this stuff, even at the chances of breaking the bank.
